Do you have a Travel Agent? I got excellent service from the hotel by going through my TA whereas I don't think I would have been able to reserve the spot. They also have to confirm with the judge that they are available that day.

I got my request through pretty quickly using my TA. I don't know if you have one, but if you do I would have your TA do some calling.

Hi everyone,

We just returned from our wedding last Friday 2/13/09. It was perfect. Everything from the moment we arrived was amazing and any problems we had along the way were taken care of extremely quickly and the staff was amazing. I lived and died by this site so I wanted to make sure to give a thorough review for all the weddings to come. We saw at least 7 other weddings while we were there too.

 

We had about 75 guests and did the SKY wedding and reception on the Plaza Deck with an informal cocktail hour at the Zocola bar while we took our picutues.

 

When we arrived we met with Gilberto and Honey...Honey no longer works there though. Gilberto is amazing. He helped us with so many details and i have never seen a person work so hard all the time and be so enjoyable to everyone. My advice is really to not get hung up on the details. My flowers were perfect, the cake looked just like I asked for. We forgot about music for the ceremony so Honey sat and picked out music with us at the last minute. They made us awesome programs for the ceremony (included in the sky package). The food was amazing, everyone raved about it. We were worried because it was windy and cold some of the nights but we got the best day of the week. There were actually 2 or 3 weddings I thought on Valentines Day but only one on Friday the 13th! We had the $12 salad and chicken dinner and everyone loved it. We were supposed to have rice pudding and they never broght it out but i didnt even know till the next day. Not a huge deal...

My dress broke the first night i was there and they had to go get a zipper from cancun and fix it. They were amazing and fixed my dress perfectly. The consierge Marianna and Honey were so great and fixed everything for me. Obviously very stressful but I just knew everything would be great. So many people from friends to my older relatives just said it was the greatest wedding they had ever been to. We had so much fun the entire week. The hotel was great! Yes, you might want to stick a towel under the door when you shower because it is not the best design and one day there was no hot water until 8pm but no one cared too much. We just had so much fun the entire time we were there. Fransico the waiter on the beach is amazing, Johnny bad boy the pilates instructor is wonderful and so many other staff members were great. Gilberto really is a saint....he was so wonderful. If you do the legal marriage be sure to check your license. We had some spelling errors that needed to be corrcted so i was glad I read it over so closely. They fixed it the following day, no problem. The spa was wonderful. They did such a great job with the hair! I did my own make up but i was so thrilled with my hair. They can follow any picture and our really, really good. The spa is pricey but beautiful. I am not sure how to post pictures yet so if anyone wants to see them send me your email and I can email them. We used Cladia photo and had 2 sisters that were great do our pictures. We dont have the official ones yet....we had our Caribe video the next day and it was great. Worth every penny for sure.

 

Overall girls, dont stress. The resort is wonderful, the beach is fine, yes the ocean is rocky but it is so breazy you dont need to get wet! Or just walk for 5 minutes and you can walk right in. The weddings were so beautiful and mine was perfect. I would do it all over again in a heartbeat and I assure you i was very worried before we left!

 

Enjoy it! The time goes quick! The honeymoon breakfast, althogh 2 days late was great and we loved the dinner on the beach! All the restaurants were great, sometimes the service was slow but we were never in a hurry. Le Chique is small portions but very cool...just dont go hungry.

Is anyone or has anyone done the legal wedding? We have our license in spanish and are back in the US and I have no idea what to do next? Im looking to have it translated and hopefully then we can file it but Im not so sure...
