Hi ElanaB82,

I found them earlier in this thread. I havent confirmed the measurements myself but assume they are accurate:

Where are you having your reception? Which menu did you pick and what are you doing for center pieces?  I need to get started on the OOT bags soon and look for sheers and chair bows for the ceremony.  I just bought lanterns for gazebo decoration and stringed lights for reception.  Not sure what else to use.  Any suggestions?

We are having our ceremony on the beach- "Gazebo Zocalo" (originally we were doing the Sky Wedding but the more planning I did I decided it wasn't worth the extra 1800 just to have it up there plus now i really like the idea of the beach better anyway and I think it will be less windy). Then our cocktail hour is being held at "Zocalo Al Fresco" and the reception is at "Plaza Zavaz" which is the poolside terrace with gazebo. Where are you having yours?

For our menu we decided to go with the BBQ Deluxe Buffet. Honestly, we picked it so long ago that I don't remember specifically why we chose it. I think it was the most price effective and the best sounding as far as the actual menu and my WC told me it was a popular one.

Center pieces are seriously driving me in circles... I have no idea what to do yet. I was thinking about making pomanders to hang on the aisle chairs at the ceremony and then using them again at the reception for center pieces but I'm undecided. You?

I am definitely buying paper lanterns as well! What colors and sizes did you get and where did you buy them? Maybe this could be something we share. I could pay you half or something. Just a thought. As far as other decorations for the reception I'm unsure. I was thinking about maybe floating candles or something in the pool?? I also want to use table runners in purple to accent the tables.

There is so much to think about and it's hard to do it from far away but I feel like it's all starting to come together a little bit. I have my first dress fitting in 2 weeks so I need to find shoes!!!

As I'm going for the pearl package and want my wedding in the Gazebo on the beach have any of you seen any others use Taffeta to decorate the gazebo? If so how does it look?

I cannot find these crystal acrylic bead back drops (for the gazebo) anywhere in the UK..has anyone got any idea where I can find them?

Do you know if the hotel offers any fireworks or the reception?

Jade

Hi Jade,

I am not sure where you could find the acrylic bead backdrop, perhaps try etsy? Or if you're crafty, perhaps you can make your own? I would think it should not be too complicated, if you can find the correct materials.

As for fireworks- the resort does not offer, nor are you allowed to have fireworks. Also a lot of brides have asked about the floating lanterns, and they also are NOT allowed due to fire concerns.

I know weddings are never perfect, but I wasn't expecting the imperfections and major hiccups to start until we arrived in Mexico!  Two of my bridesmaids ordered their dresses online- one ordered in May and received hers in August and the other ordered in August with the promise that she should receive it my mid November.  It is now mid January and she still has not received it!mad.gif The company hasn't made any apology and is now not even guaranteeing the dress will arrive before we leave 2 weeks from today!  How can you be in the wedding business and not guarantee a product by a certain date? thatswck.gifAnd now it's too late for me to even rush order the dress from anywhere else...needless to say I'm upset and stressed to the max. What to do???

I agree with you tkuzma - about not expecting those kind of situations to happen back in the "real world" ..........however, I guess it goes to show that it can happen anywhere, and that it's good to stay flexible and "roll with the punches".......

I wish you the best possible outcome to your concerns, and that whatever happens, you have the Most Amazing Wedding Ever!!!!!

You GO girl! :)

That must be SO frustrating! What does the dress look like? Is there anyway to try and find something similar or a style that compliments the other dress that you could find locally? Or perhaps if you post a photo of the other dress we can all look for you to see if we find something that we could make sure you have within 2 weeks? Perhaps try local ads of bridesmaids selling dresses (Kijiji, Craigslist?).

As for the company who you ordered the dress from....that is horrible customer service! You ordered with plenty of time, 6 months to get a bridesmaid dress seems unreasonable. BangHead.gif
