I booked our week at El Dorado Maroma through our "Exotic Travelers" membership (the vacation club for the Azuls and El Dorados in the Mayan Riviera).  But, I don't think you'd get a discount from Karisma.  We were not given a discounted price when I got a quote from my TA.

I really wanted to honeymoon at El Dorado Casitas but it was more expensive :(

Laura - What a beautiful picture!!!!!!! Can't wait to see more pics and read your review. Your hair and flowers are gorgeous!!

Gina - I will be having my hairstyle done by them. From the reviews that I have read from past brides, not one bride complained. Actually all the past brides raved and loved their hair and makeup so I am really not worried about this. I think as long as you bring a pic of what hairstyle you like, they can duplicate it.

tkuzma - sorry not much help here. We are going to Tahiti but we are going next year. My FI is graduating next year so we decided to wait until he is done with school.

SO i am freaking out a bit. Just read from another bride that we should bring enough chair sashes for the ceremony and reception. I thought they would be able to move the sashes from the ceremony right to the reception. Now, I am not sure what to do.... use them for the ceremony or reception.  :(

Also, to those brides who used DJ Doremixx. Did you give him a list of the music you want? Or did he just played what was appropriate to get all guests on the dance floor? I have about 50 songs that I want but can't think of anymore. Is this enough? Any advice would be great!

I am going to start packing the decoration this weekend. Hope I can fit into 1 suitcase....

I'm leaving tues, 11/6.... OMG!!!

Just had my bachelorette party this past weekend in AC. Had a blast but now the next 2 weekends is trying to pull everything together! Breathe..breathe... lol

I had my hair and makeup done by the spa. They did a great job! I just brought pictures and it was duplicated perfectly. Below are some pictures...the first one is to show the makeup (the picture was later on in the night, it was very windy so my bangs are all over, but the makeup stayed on well). The second picture shows my updo better.

Elaine- What a great pic!!! Hope you had an awesome time in AC =)

Don't freak out over the sashes! Where did you get them from? Perhaps you can order more with rush delivery? If you got them from eBay or online with a seller that's overseas, not a good idea. But, you can always find them locally & get them here in time! Or, if you don't want to order more, just decide where you'd want them. I would say put them on the reception chairs, so they get more use! The ceremony flies by, and if you have other ceremony decorations, I don't think you'd even miss them! Glad to hear you're starting to pack early, it'll help to take off some stress the closer it gets to your departure!! Don't stress about anything, enjoy the next two weeks & soon enough you'll be celebrating in Mexico!!!

I booked w/ Doremixx as well! I think you can provide him with a list of songs you definitely want to hear, as well as any songs you definitely DON'T want played.

Other than that, I'm sure he'll fill in your playlist with popular songs & "mood setting" music. I believe he said they meet a few days prior to review everything, but don't hold me to that LOL I've heard only amazing things about him so I'm sure he'll do a great job =)

What are you bringing down with you? Did you do your own flowers or decorations/centerpieces?

TTYL!

We just confirmed our date - we are getting married on November 10, 2013 at Azul Sensatori! This thread was incredibly helpful to me when we were looking at different options, and I'm definitely excited to be a part of this group!

Hi Ladies!!!

So I'm on the fence with one thing in particular that's very important to me- my SHOES! LOL

I work for a shoe company, where we design & produce shoes for stores allover the world! So of course, I'm working on designing my own pair to wear on our wedding day. But, I need some advice- Are heels in the sand really impossible? I really would love to wear a gorgeous high heel and add some height to this short body of mine [i'm 5'3"]. Any past brides with advice?

I'd love to hear what you guys think, thanks =)

J

I went with high heels! It's a must since I'm 5" and my fiancé if 6"6'! My reception is at Plaza though and I should be fine since its paved! Anyone know about the ceremony by the gazebo? Will high heels work? Jenny- how cool that you get to design your wedding shoes!! Can't wait to see them!
