Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry, and Hazelnut are correct...that's all they have.

Hi Ladies.... if you are curious about the cakes and did not do a rehearsal visit (go to the resort ... taste all the food see all the venues for 3 nights 4 days for a discounted rate... i think we paid 300 total ask you travel agent... its called "bride's dress rehearsal") I tasted all the cakes, cup cakes, and alternative deserts and my FI and I agreed the cakes and cupcakes were not tasty enough for the cost... the tiramisu was DELICIOUS!! We are giving up doing the cutting of the cake and what not for the better taste and its less expensive... something to think about...

Also in regards to the "dress rehearsal visit" We also got a bunch of comps for attending like $500 food and beverage credit for our private event and then an additional 20% off all private event food, decor, etc. Definitely recommend taking advantage of this.

Only 2 months until my big day... stress level is rising... eek!!

Laura, how did you arrange the "dress rehearsal"? I actually asked about it, and I didn't get any sort of a deal (other than a free upgrade) -- and my WC says that we can do a tasting while we're down there and get a tour, but it sounds like we can only taste a handful of things (i believe she said "1-2" things, which obviously is not sufficient...).

Ladies I'm quite sad and hurt today...thus I need to vent a bit and figured you'd be likely to understand.  8 months into the planning process one of my supposed good friends and bridesmaid told me she's not going to be able to make the wedding; she made the choice to pick to go on a medical trip to South America over my wedding.  Being in the medical profession we are forced to make sacrifices in our personal lives to further our careers, and sometimes vice versa as well, but I thought that my wedding would have been higher priority.  To date I don't think she had even booked her trip or ordered her BM dress, so it makes me wonder if she ever had intention to go.  Throughout this process, I've learned some of my "friends" are not truly friends, but I didn't expect this from one of my supposed closest ones.  Given the general lack of excitement for this wedding abroad from others in conjunction with wide spread criticism, I am feeling disheartened and at the moment would rather elope....Sorry for the long rant, and thanks for listening!

 Hi Kary

I spoke with my travel agent from destination weddings and she set it up... i would definitely follow up on this... its called the brides dress rehearsal and it should be 300-400 total for the couple for 3 nights... they do it every 4-6 weeks... we toured several resorts and tasted everything... and got a free welcome cocktail party, $500 credit, and 20% off... definitely worth it...

I am so sorry to hear this. frown.gif It's always very unfortunate when people that you care about, show that they don't care back as much. I understand that everyone has to make sacrifices, however it is always nice to know from the start (ie. I love you to pieces, but I know I will not be able to make it to Mexico. But I could help you plan or do projects, etc.) People seem to think that it better to lead someone on and then disappoint them.....sigh.

Try to take a deep breath, have a nice glass of wine and realize that you will still be surrounded by family and friends that love you! You will have a beautiful wedding, and at the end of the day it's really about you and your husband to be. If Mexico is the location you dream about, then you have made the right choice! Good luck- and know there are lots of us brides (current or past) who have all gone through the same misery and disappointment! hug2.gifTry to leave the stress behind you and enjoy the rest of your planning phase.

Hi ladies,

I hope everyone is doing well!  At the wedding I attended on Friday, the officiant used an iPad to read from -- what an awesome idea!  Our officiant (my hubby's dad) had a binder and the pages were flying all around the entire time and my bridesmaid had to help him turn pages.  Thought I'd share in case anyone is using their own officiant.

Keep your chin up!  I know this is very hurtful, but your very closest friends and family will be there and that is all that matters.  This is actually the exact reason I have chosen to do a destination wedding.  I have been to so many weddings and even been in weddings of which I am no longer close to the couple, in my opinion a destination wedding is the very best way to have only your closest friends and family there.  Have a glass of wine, take a deep breath and don't let this get you down for too long.
