tkuzma - I am purchasing my luggage tags holders and roomkey holders on ebay. 50 luggage tags w/worm loops are $47.76 + $5.75. I have not purchased these yet b/c I am hoping I can find another seller who is willing to sell for either cheaper or free shipping & handling. For the roomkey holders, I paid for 50 $10.95 free shipping.  And I purchased 60 coil bracelet key chains for $34.95 (also free shipping). I wish I could purchase 50 but you have to buy by the dozen and 48 would not be enough.   Humm... a creative love themed name...let me get back to you on this.  Would you mind sharing the cocktail recipe? :)

Thanks for the tip!

The recipe I found is on the Martha Stewart website for Lemon Drop Champagne Punch:

Ingredients

  • 3 lemons, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 bottle (750 milliliters) Champagne, chilled
  • 3/4 cup best-quality vodka, chilled
  • 4 ounces candied lemon peels

Directions

  1. With a vegetable peeler, remove zest from each lemon in a long, continuous spiral. Juice lemons, and strain pulp (you should have 3/4 cup juice). Set aside.
  2. Heat sugar and 1/2 cup water in a small saucepan over medium-high heat, stirring until sugar has dissolved. Bring to a boil. Remove from heat. Add zest. Let syrup cool completely, about 2 hours.
  3. Pour Champagne, vodka, lemon juice, and syrup into a punch bowl; stir. Serve glasses of punch with candied peels.

Hi ladies,

Regarding the signature cocktails, you can hang out at the bar one day and try all sorts of cocktail and decide on one!!

Regarding the dress on the plane... just be one of the first on board and ask the flight attendant.  I put mine right into the first class closet.  When we landed in Cancun, I realized that my dress had fallen to the bottom of the bag... MAKE SURE IT IS SECURE ON THE HANGER IN THE BAG (I did not do this and figured the bridal salon would've...).  Chances are, there will be other brides on board and the flight attendants doing the Cancun route are very familiar with accommodating the dresses!

Here's a laugh for you... I called Delta to find out what their policy is for carrying wedding dresses on board and they told me the things we've all heard before: "if there is room in the first class closet you can hang it there or you can hold it on your lap."  I'm not worried about it wrinkling as it is lace but I was stunned into silence when the rep said "or you can buy a seat for it."  hahahahahahaha  Unbelievable.

I saw that idea on Martha Stewart Weddings- that woman has the best ideas; I wish I could have her plan my wedding!  After spending a bit of time on the website last night, I found a cocktail recipe I like and that will go with our colours (ivory, champagne and gold)- Lemon Drop Champagne Punch.  Now I just have to come up with a cute wedding/love themed name...any suggestions?

Dori, that is ridiculous! Sounds like Delta is just as out of it as Lomas is!!! You think they would have a policy for special circumstances like weddings- I am thankful Sunwing does!

Is anyone doing luggage tags for your guests? Any recommendations on where to purchase the clear holders from? Thanks!!!

I bought these self laminating luggage tags from ebay, not sure if you'll see the link as im from the UK but they are brilliant! I got everyones contact info and made the tags myself and then they go inside the clear case, you peel back a piece of paper and close them and they self laminate! They look so professional. I will be posting my DIY stuff soon :)

Depending on the airline and the plane now, there is often not even a first class closet anymore! So don't count on this as an option. Be prepared to put the dress on top of your bags in the overhead compartment. Just try to lay it as flat as possible. (My dress was lace, and it didn't wrinkle at all, even though I had to fold it in half.

Don't remember who was flying Sunwing- But they DO NOT have closets anymore!

Like someone else said, try to board the plane at the start. Then at least you get room in the overheard compartment, and can close it. Usually people will only put stuff in when the door is still open. Good luck ladies!

In terms of the alternate locations: We were told of 2

1) a ballroom (which would also be used for the reception)

2) the back deck of the lobby, overlooking the resort. (it's where the nightly show happens) It's actually quite a nice spot (and the one that someone posted a photo of)

Hey ladies! So my WC has gotten to me, and I hope you all don't mind me venting a bit mad2.gif

So I've been working with WC Amanda from the Miami office and I know I'm still 11 months from our wedding- But is that a reason to take SO long to respond? Now, I was well aware going into this that I have to be patient in getting responses, and I think I've been fair. BUT, for the simplest question or two I have, she took almost 10 days to answer me! I have a slew of questions to ask her, but I feel if I send it to her a few at a time, it'll take me easily a month to have all the answers I need. Are you all experiencing this? Any suggestions? I know I could try calling, but when it comes to numbers & fees I want that all in writing so in case they try to pull a fast one, I have proof. The final straw: One question I had asked her which was very important to have an answer to ASAP b/c I couldn't book my photographer without it-  She took more than a week again to answer! [i even stressed how important it was and resent the email 3 times] I almost lost out on our photographer & I was furious.

Sorry for venting ladies, hope you understand, my apologies- just had to let it out!

[My fiance listens, but his reply is "stop worrying so much" LOL]

Thanks for this Jenna! I will keep an eye out for these here in Canada- I love that they're self-laminating!

Hey Jenny, I hear you, and I don't know if this is going to make you feel better, but I have Amanda as one of my WCs as well and it usually takes 7-10 days for me to get a response (same thing for my 2nd WC as well).  I was anxious about it in the beginning, but I've let it go now.  I try to stack all my questions and number them when I do email my WC's.  The nice thing about this forum is that it answers some of my questions that I don't have to wait a response from the WC for!
