Azul Sensatori Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Hey Ladies,

We are putting together our webinar schedule for BDW.  These webinars are great because not only can you get YOUR questions answered but also hear answers to questions from other brides that you may not have even though of :)

Webinars are a great way to not only hear directly from the wedding department but see the wedding packages that they offer, ceremony/reception pics, etc.

I try to only limit the webinars to once every 2 weeks so we of course can not do all resorts.

Please vote on which resorts you would like to have webinars on...you can choose more than 1.

Hi! Krysta. Welcome! :)

When I posted the same question, I was given the following photographers who came highly recommended by the other brides:  Del Sol Photography, Ivan Luckie, Taylor Jackson and Elizabeth Media. I decided on Elizabeth Medina b/c i fell in love with her pictures. She is pricey but I did not mind b/c pictures are really important to me. So, definitely look at each of their websites to see their work and even send them all emails asking questions and their prices. Here is Elizabeth Medina's website if you would like to check out her work:

I used Ivan luckie....I still have yet to see one of my photos, I wish one teaser came my way (wedding day was October 24th)....

I can't give a full review on him until I see the pics, obviously.

I am expecting about 50-75 guests for our wedding. I have been looking over the private event banquest kit. I am a little confused on the dinners. I was just wondering if anyone just picked the meal for the guests or if you let your guests choose, or if you did family style or buffet. Please let me know what you picked and how it worked out.

This thread has been super helpful! A pre-thank you to all you girls!

hey,

we have 61 guests and also thought the list was terribly confusing. We ended picking a set menu and chose chicken for everyone (except vegetarians). It's $18 per person and it includes an appetizer and dessert. We didn't want to bother asking everyone what they wanted, plus our guests are all easy going... I shall see if this was the right choice in a couple of weeks!

All fantastic photographers-just note that Del Sol is not allowed on Karisma resorts at this time.

We picked a set menu for 63 guests. We had to pick the appetizer and dessert, but our guests were given the option of two mains (I think we had mahi-mahi and pork). We had to have the guests choice about 30 days prior to the wedding, and I had sent out menu cards which stated if we did not get a response by Jan 1(example), they would automatically be given the pork dish. That way I didn't have to chase down people if they didn't respond. It worked out really well and the dishes were all very tasty. (the resort is quite flexible, I had 3 surprise guests tell me one week prior to the wedding, and I was still able to add extra plates/meals)

I know a lot of girls have done the buffet, and said there was tons of food to go around. I think no matter what you choose it will be great! Just a question if you want your guests having to stand up and get there own food, or be served.

When you sent the money you received the MTCN #, right? Did you give that # to Doremixx? They need that # in order to retrieve your payment on their end. Once they receive it, they will confirm w/you the payment. I think after i sent them the email w/the MTCN#, the emailed me back either the following day or day after. Don't worry...they are legit.

I'm starting to worry... how long did it take for you guys to hear back?

I totally agree w/you..it was so confusing. My FI and I had a sampling of the family style dinner while we were down in Azul and fell in love with the plentiful of food and the quality of food. We really wanted our guests to walk away thinking "omg...there was so much food". We have a lot of italians in my group so having a lot of food was important to us. Everything they list on the family style menu is EVERYTHING that will be placed on each table for everyone to eat. Same goes for dessert. Since there will be so much dessert we are opting for a very small cake...really only for pic purposes.

We had 67 guests for our wedding.  We hosted two private events - a welcome party on friday night (on the beach) and our reception on Saturday night (Plaza Zavas).  For Friday night we got the beach bbq menu, and for the reception we had the family style menu.  Both were excellent, and our guests raved about both of them.  I went with those menus because I didn't want to stress about picking food for everyone, and there is enough food on both of those menus that everyone will be pleased with it.  They are pricier, but since we weren't having an at-home reception, we didn't mind spending the extra money for the private events.  I highly recommend both menus, but I have seen other brides recommend the pick and choose menus, so I think you can't really go wrong.

One thing I will say - I ordered three tiers of cupcakes instead of cake (because for the same amount of people, cupcakes were $400 as opposed to $800, and their cakes aren't pretty anyway), and they were AWFUL.  Exceptionally bad.  Tasted like they had been sitting around for a week.  The menus that I had at both events included various desserts, and they were decent (nothing spectacular).  Dessert is definitely not their forte.

Good luck and happy planning!
