Azul Sensatori Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Thank you so much for your advice. I actually ended up filling one room that day. Apparently people were waiting for our travel agent to get back to them and haven't booked because of that. I was not happy with her that day and kind of flipped out. I agree that Oct is waaay too early for many people to book and know their schedules....now i realize that. Back in June I thought that 5 months was plenty of time for people to figure out if they are coming or not but I guess i was wrong.

I did however sign a contract but I feel like working in the industry they could have given me better advice, Im sure im not the only one who ended up in this situation. I felt pressured by them because they kept scaring me that  prices will be a lot more if i don't reserve rooms NOW.  I pray that i can fight for my deposits.

My bridal shower is on Sunday and I am feeling nervous. I hate public speaking and im nervous about my thank you speech. It's silly but im actually feeling sick to my stomach about it.  aaaaaaaaaah!!!!!!!

Just had to get that out.

Hi ladies,

My site visit is coming up very soon --- the week of November 1 (very excited!). Has anyone here had a site visit at the Azul hotels before?  If so, what should I expect during the site visit?  Has anyone been successful tasting any of the menu options for weddings during a site visit?

I'm very excited for the trip, but am so nervous that I'm going to forgot to ask important questions while I'm there.  Any suggestions about questions that I should definitely make sure to ask during the site visit?  Would appreciate any input from former or 'soon to be' brides! Thanks so much, ladies!

Have fun!  We did one about 8 months before we got married. We met with the onsite WC, who showed us the grounds, locations for ceremony and receptions and then showed up some sample photos. We also were greeted at every restaurant with a small food sample and drink. We didn't try and were not offered samples of the dinner menu, but the food at the resort is amazing and still is the best food I have had at a resort down south (and my husband and I travel at least 2 times a year to the Caribbean)

Ask about how you want your day to go....ie. if you plan on using the spa to have your hair/makeup done, visit it and ask for prices. Want to see what rooms you could stay in...ask to view some of the different ones (ie. swim up room, balcony ocean view). They are super professional and truly to try to make it the day of your dreams. So any little question is not to silly, and if there are specific things you want to know ask (how do they block off the beach area for your ceremony, how long should the reception be, etc.)

Hi! Caroline - I booked a dress rehearsal through my TA back in September. It is basically a site tour plus menu tasting and wedding cake tasting. If you are staying Azul Sensatori, I highly recommend making reservations at Le Chique as soon as you arrive. This is the only restaurant at AS that requires reservations. I landed on a Thursday, did a site tour of AS on Friday, and then on Saturday i was taken to El Dorado Royale for menu and wedding cake tasting. Even if you are unable to do the tasting, trust me you won't be disappointed. I wish i had planned my trip a bit better b/c i did not eat at all the restaurants at AS. Although, I am having my wedding at AS, I now wish I did a tour of the other Karisma hotels (El Doryado Royale, Azul Beach, etc). It would have been nice just to see. Also, I would recommend reviewing their wedding packages and the other extra stuff that way you are more prepared with questions. Visit their site http://www.weddingscaribbeans.com/  I def wish I knew about this site before my trip. Good luck and ask as many questions as you would like! They are extremely nice! I hope this was helpful.

Thanks so much, Murmel! I feel much more relieved having heard about your site visit experience.  Great question suggestions!! I'm adding them all to my list.

Does anyone know if Azul hotels allow brides to use outside vendors for flowers / decorations?  And if so, do former brides have any referrals or recommendations of flower vendors to use?

Hey Ladies! I've totally been MIA up to this point but have been reading all your very informative posts :) Thanks!

So our day is up and coming....November 15th @ AS!!! SO nervous and so excited!!!! A few questions for you ladies out there....

1. I have hired a wonderful couple (M&J Photography) to do our wedding pictures from the Ceremony up to the end of the reception (1:30 to 11 pm). I am having doubts now as I intitally opted out of getting a videographer.....any thoughts if I should try to find one last minute??? Is it worth the $$$?

2. I am bringing some of my own decor (ie. paper lanterns, etc), does anyone know how much they charge on site to set it all up?

3.  I also decided (initially) to opt out of the Spa services as I'm very particular about my hair and make up. Have any of you had the chance to get your make up/hair done by the resort staff.....thoughts?

Totally feel like I'm getting COLD FEET about all these things....but not cold feet about the wedding itself! :)

Help!! (please)

Hi Nada,

1. I recently made up my mind and decided to go ahead and get a videographer. I will regret it if I dont. I also want it because there are people who won't make it that will want to see it, plus it's a memory forever. It's worth getting a good one too so you're not stuck with the same shaky video everyone seems to have. I feel it's worth the ridiculous $500 vendor fee.

2. I'm also bringing some stuff, my TA told me the fee was $50 but she's trying to wave that as we didn't really get any perks.

3. I will be having my hair done and so will 5 other girls. I've heard good reviews about both makeup and hair stylists. I'm sure they will be fine as they do this all the time. It may be worth getting a trial done just in case.

hope this helps!! you're wedding will be awesome!
