I would get the full details explained to you! Every TA is slightly different. We sent out our invites in early June, and our guests had to put a deposit (I think $200) on a room by July 15 to get our group rate. They then had to pay the balance by late November.

Something I learned, due to miscommunication: our guests were all charged their deposits on the same date July 15, no matter if they called June 1, or July 14. So this was really frustrating since people were wondering if their deposits had been accepted or not. Then the same thing happened for the balance payment. Some people called on September 1, and did not get charged til November 25! So this was frustrating since people though
t they would be charged the day to called to say "I am paying off my balance, here is my Visa number..." This caused huge confusion since people were waiting for their itineries, and statements of payment. Again, the TA did not inform us, and if I had my time back I would ask exactly how everything would be processed.

It's the TA's job to ensure you understand your contract, the timelines and to ensure your guests are treated well. Make sure you take notes, and understand it before you sign!

I am kinda freaking....Chris and I both work at a college in the Athletics dept. and the support staff are on STRIKE!!!  With both of us on a reduced income, I am hoping it ends sooner rather than later..or we are going to have to start axing a few of our private events we planned.  (That and I have only done 2 days on the picket line, and I am ready to lose it!!!)

PS>....whoever said the shoes were the worst to find...I SO know what you mean!  Dress...easy, shoes...not so much!!!

Always trying to end on a positive:  I am finished my DIY chapstick labels, and have them all assembled, and am now working on the paddle fans.

:)

Melissa, I heard the news! That sucks :( Hopefully things will be settled soon. And if you can't do one of your private events....don't worry about it! People are there to spend time with you and Chris, it doesn't matter if you on a sailboat, ziplining, or just sitting by the pool!

What color/style of shoes are you looking for? I will keep my eyes peeled msnwink.gif

And let me know when your LED and batteries come in and we'll get together for dinner!

Thanks Murmel....I agree, no one will know if I have to axe a thing or two, but I think we will be fine.  I double checked our budget etc. and I forgot that I had put the deposit down for 40 people to hold...so thats $6000!!!  :)  Yipee!!!!

I am looking for a green shoe, OR a white shoe that I will put some fun fascinators on (been checking out etsy) >>> I am leaning towards a white strappy number, and not too much of a heel, as Chris is only 2-3 inches taller than me... :)

You Rock!

PS>..picked up my dress yesterday!  :)    It needs some altering, but nothing major so far!

The lining is a bit tight and bunching, but I ordered it a size smaller on purpose, as I have dropped 10 lbs already since I ordered it.  I also found earings yesterday...I love the danforth!  :)

Your so awesome to keep helping us soon to be brides out!

Hope your enjoying your long weekend!

I will DEF. let you know when they come in...dinner sounds awesome!  :)

xo

Shoes were super hard for me too! For white shoes, try the Shoe Company. What colour green?? Emerald, lime, etc.?

Here's a stroppy white shoe...not sure it would match the dress though...

You must be so excited to see the dress again! Hope the alterations are quick and easy. And congrats on finding the earrings, I love when things start coming together.

As for the long weekend...I am working. But only 5 more days and then 5 days off! Yippee!

I went to the website you mentioned papermart.com.  Did you get the bolts that were 25 yards or 10 yards?  Thinking of getting my own too.  I can't believe that the white sheers at the resort are $100 and colour sheers are $150.

Thanks for posting the website!

hope that helps!

I went with the premium tulle bolts and got 40 yards, because that's all they had in my colors.  The bolts still seam tiny enough to bring so I'll ditch the rest there or bring it home to try to sell.  There prices are crazy!  I am alos going to be purchasing pink napkins once I have my final count to add a pop of color since karisma charges 5 per napkin and I estimated I can get 40 of them for about 40 bucks based on research!

I like the idea of the napkins too.  Are you getting them from the same website?   Will you be using the tulle for chair ties also? I can't believe they also cost $5 each to use.

I started making my programs last night and I love them!! I ordered my paper from cutcardstock.com. I found a free template online.  programs.jpg

I also opted to do a postcard instead of a welcome booklet. I got them from vistaprint and i only had to pay for shipping. Much easier.  postcard.jpg

We are all set for our legal ceremony on 10/13 and I can't wait!!

I went through 3 pairs of shoes before i found THE pair. I ended up getting them from dsw for $50. It's a satin wedge with an open toe and a bow with a 2 1/2 inch heel. simple but super cute and comfy. not my dream shoe by any means but my dream shoe won't work in the sand. :-/

I had 30 days from signing my contract to get my guests to pay their deposit. I worked with my Destinationweddings.com rep to coordinate timing of the communication. 10 days is not enough time.
