Azul Sensatori Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I''m new to the blog and all the things you girls are posting is very helpful. I just have a few questions i'm hoping someone can help with.

#1: I purchased the sand ceremony but can I bring my own sand. If I bring the sand do I still have to pay the $40 for the sand ceremony

#2 Is the cocktail party the day before the wedding worth it?

#3 Did anyone have their wedding certificates translated and legalized for the us? If so how long did it take

#4 For brides already married there - how safe was the area (I have a brother who is freaking cause he is worried)

#5 Any brodes getting married March 2011? I'm getting married March 19

For the person who said they went through destinationweddings.com - I too went through them and they are HORRIBLE - I did most the travel details myslef (I even had to call and complain once). My coordinator is totally clueless and unorganized!!!

usually there is a small discount, but you can earn credit towards your room on the "bride and groom stay free" program. check with your TA and they'll give you all the details.

with my wedding creeping up on me, i guess i should organize a call with my Miami WC to finalize the details...I still can't decide on a bouquet. Too many decisions!!

Thanks Tisha! Beautiful pictures! This really makes me rethink that all of the guys are wearing white shirts and khackis. I love how Sarah had her hubby in white and the others in orange.

In all of the pictures I see, the water doesn't look really blue (like Cancun and Riviera Maya water usually does). For the girls that have been there, are the pictures just deceiving?

Don't look to them like true "wedding coordinators".  Get your info from these blogs.  My WC hasn't even been on site since it first opened!  LOL.  Also - when it comes to answers - they will be at your disposal when there is one month to your wedding.  In fact - I got a price for something within hours one day when before I had to nag and follow up.  My advise - be nice to them and they will be very helpful in the end.

Also - I was doing the exotic gazebo then i worked out a deal for 2 colored sheers.  However - I would have continued with the exotic gazebo despite the pic b/c there was a bride on here recently that got married and had them drape the exotic gazebo decor instead of candy cane it.  My WC said that the sheers they use for the exotic gazebo are too short to drape - I don't believe it - I think its another money grab.  I only changed it b/c I wanted a color.

And girls, is it just me or are the wedding coordinators pretty much useless?  Maybe that's a harsh word to use but I feel like I'm always referred to the Lomas site and never really get a true answer on anything.  I guess that's why this forum is so wonderful though.  I need to set up a phone call.  Maybe that would help.

Any of our January brides using the exotic gazebo?  I'm wondering about the candy cane vs draped shears.  I really don't like the candy cane look.  :(

And I thought the reservation at Spoons was good for 50 people. Was just told it's 40.  Am I crazy, or was it 50 a while back?

There is also the garnier roller ball that works good with puffyness not soo much dark circles. Also if you don't want to spend money then put some tea bags in the fridge and use those on your eyes. It works great! the caffine in it will bring down the puffiness.

Just checking to see if anyone knows of any products for puffy under eyes.  I have awful allergies and have been on allergy shots for about 8 months now, weekly.  But, my eyes are still really awful with dark circles and puffiness.  I would like to find something that can help before the wedding.

Thanks!!

1.  If you bring all your sand ceremony stuff - you don't need to pay anything.  I am bringing everything - sand, vase etc.

2.  I'm doing a cocktail party as a welcome party - many of my guests don't know each other - so we thought it would be a nice way for people to meet and get to know each other early on in the trip.  We are also hiring the cigar roller.  I'll post my views after we get married in a few weeks!

3.  I would pay for the wedding certificate to be translated in Mexico - while you are there.  If you want to legalize your wedding when you get back home you will need an english version. Translation services are more expensive when you get them done at home.  Its only 150 if you have it done there.

4.  Has your brother ever travelled?  LOL - I guess I am a bit sarcastic when people are afraid of Mexico.  I work in a Trauma ward where I see people with everything from gun shot wounds to victims of incidental explosions.  If its your time - it will come wherever you are!

I don't know if I am using my original wedding dress for the TTD - but I wanted to let everyone know that it is a great time to visit BCBG for a substitute.  I bought a nice white dress there today for 3/4 of the original price! Here is a pic - you can tie the bow anywhere you want:

Just wanted to share something funny with those who get frustrated with the company they chose to book their wedding with:

I chose a local company that specializes in "wedding holidays".  I have yet to hear from them about my wedding plans (including wedding events, cost etc.).  I haven't talked to them in several months!  I have not even recieved my itinerary - and we leave in 2 wks!  Everything I learned was through this website, The Knot and the coordinator I was assigned in Miami.  I paid the people in miami direct.  The worst part is that the local agency even screwed up multiple times trying to book my guests in the beginning!  So basically they are useless!  But this forum is golden - so don't get worried or upset if your local provider sucks!

Hi

Can anyone help? We are booked to get married at 5pm April 2012, I have e mailed WC to ask if we can get married earlier, I feel 5pm might be a bit late, what time does the sun go down? as I want pics done when it is bright and maybe a few pics done when the sun is setting

I love it!! I'll have to check out BCBG. Usually everything is so expensive, so I stay away... but I have been trying to find a reasonable dress for my TTD session.

Hi Rachael. I'm getting married at 5:30pm in April 2011 and I was told there will be plenty of sunlight. I figure we will have 20-30 minutes for our ceremony and then an hour or so for pictures which will take us to 7pm. I was worried about the same thing... Let me know if you hear anything different.
