Technically you can not pick and choose from different menus but I will still ask...they told us no b/c we wanted a different appetizer and dessert at first but after we told them we did not want to serve our guest raw salmon they allowed us to have different salad and let us have treche leche instead of the Mexican Rice Pudding lol so it doesnt hurt to ask...

Attached is a file that shows the Private Reception locations.  For the menu, I'm pretty certain you can not pick and choose from different menus.  I believe you can offer two separate options, but you have to notify the resort of each guests dinner preference prior to arrival.  The cocktail hour is not free, unless you have a GI consultant who can get you an incentive.  The pricing for that should be on the same banquet menu as the food.

I watched your video!  It was fabulous!!  Where did you get your "bride" robe from?  Also, the lights you brought for the zavaz plaza, what kind were they and how many did you bring?   Did you have a welcome party at all?

And the gorgeous pearlized Nautilus Shells were from http://www.conchking.com  The gentlemen there were very nice ...he called me once he realized what I wanted the shells for and told me to order different ones if I wanted my sand to hold it....I believe I got the 5-7'' shells not the halves...I would call and speak to them to make sure you're getting the right ones and tell him you want them to be a nice size not too small but not big either...THey shipped pretty fast and were perfect but make sure you carry them on the airplane with you as they are extremely delicate and may break...they made it back home in one piece and we are going to set them up in our new home....they are soo pretty! You ladies will love them!

Aww thank you dear...I loved it ..Ooh the bride robe came from Victorias Secret it was like $60 buxs. I was going to sell it but its so cute and I figured I'll always be his bride so I can wear it forever LOL We actually left all of our lights there didn't feel like tugging them back. We bought 6 boxes but they said that it wasnt enough but it ended up being just enough ...my husband ordered them from somewhere I'll find out for you. But yes we def had a welcome party lol we had the Beach BBQ at yoga palapa it was soo nice and fun we had tikki torches and used the lights to light up the gazebo a bit...the photographer has good shots of how it was all set up I'll post them as soon as she gives them to me =) 

The sad part about that resort is that they make you pay for stuff other ppl left behind ...I swear when they brung out our cake it was Merediths Knife Set (we forgot ours) I remembered seeing it in her pictures :/

1. There are numerous places you can hold your 'private dinner'. The beach has 3 locations, the back patio of the Zocalo restaurant, the Zavas Plaza (by the wedding location just above R5 on the map), and also 2 banquet halls in the main lobby building. You can also have an area in the Spoon restaurant, and the Italian (although I think it might be a max. of 20)

 

2. You have to choose a set menu (and they will not let you mix and match- we tried!) However we were able to do one of the 'add on' courses from a different set menu. We were able to offer our guest the choice of 2 mains, but the numbers had to be given to them about 40 days in advance

 

3. Cocktail hour is not free (unless you have a GI travel agent, in which case you may be eligible for one). They offer most basic cocktails, or are open to you designing one.

DestinatonWeddings confirmed our room block (30 rooms) and the hotel has confirmed our Date, Time, Ceremony Location and Reception Location! We're booking the photographer in the next couple days. The website and Save the dates should be ready by the end of January. I'm so exicited that everything is coming together! And again, I'm thrilled to be a part of this thread. Everyone is so helpful and wonderful!

I love these shoes! I honestly hadn't thought about dying shoes, but that's a great idea. I found heels on zappos last night that I ordered. I think they are the color of BM dress, but I will have to check in person. My color is also unique like yours so dying shoes might be my best option. I love zappos for their free shipping and great return policy, if they don't work, no worries!

Wow thanks Murmel for all the info.........I now have managed to narrow it down to 2 area''s for the dinner...either the zavas plaza or the palpa yoga...does anyone know how many guests each one holds?? also is the palpa yoga literally in the middle of the beach - so all other guests can see?? i really dont want loads of hotel guests just watching us eating! thanks again!!
