Thanks @@Sweetness14! I swear, every other email from my WC reminds me of the pay deadline and you're right, now they're telling me not to worry about it until the wedding builder is all updated. Why are they stressing me out over it?!?

. lol I have no idea. My wedding coordinator never mentioned my deadline. I made some payments prior but the balance was the day before once everything was added in for me. Don't stress too much about that.

Have you thought about just getting some throws and laying them out like beach towels? Could create a very cool, relaxed vibe.

. that's actually a great idea @@chelscbs. Make the S'mores Party your own. When I had mine, no one was sitting except for the few elderly guests that I had. I payed extra to have an amplifier there, so I plugged in my IPod to have music playing and everyone had a great time just drinking, eating and having good convo

that's an awesome idea, to lay out blankets on the beach!

Thank you

Sure thing! From what I've read, there are at least a couple of Artisan markets in Puerto Morelos city center, I'd check there for something authentic and hopefully, inexpensive.

I'm curious, did past brides who had a cocktail hour between their ceremony and reception just set it up at their reception space? Or did you pay for a separate event? If so, which cocktail party did you use?

Seems like a waste of money, since my guests will likely only get about half an hour of the cocktail party between our ceremony and dinner while we take a few pictures. Anyone know if it's an option to pay for a few apps a la carte and just have the "cocktail hour" added to the reception cost in the reception space? I know people won't want to crack into the buffet early (we're doing BBQ deluxe), but I'd like to have a few passed apps.

Thanks in advance!

@chelscbs

this is what we're planning...

Ceremony at 4pm on the beach

Cocktail Hour 5-7pm on the beach - we selected the Mexican Fiesta (we'll do photos from 5-6/630 and then join the cocktail hour)

Reception - 7-11pm at Plaza Zavas - we selected the BBQ Deluxe as well

We decided to do a set happy hour on the beach for a few reasons. we didn't want guests running off to other bars and then being late to the reception. our photographer suggested an hour between ceremony & reception to take newlywed photos. Photos will take more time than you may expect so it's nice to have a set activity for your guests.

I don't think you can order just apps - I think you have to select a set cocktail hour menu - but a good question for your WC. I'm happy to share our full 'day-of schedule' if you're interested.

happy planning!
