here is my reply from my WC about our reception dinner at Spoon Restaurant

Up to 40 people, at our Main Restaurant..."SPOON" You will need to choose a set menu which will consist of  1 starter 1 soup or pasta and 2 Main Courses (the 2 main courses option are for your guests being able to choose from 2 courses, either fish or beef, as an example)

You will choose the wedding night dinner from the Menu attached.  (If anyone wants to see this, pm me and I will send it to you,it was sent as an attachment.)

We will set you up on a secluded spot of the restaurant; all of you in tables close by, so you can enjoy of more privacy! You won't be able to have live music, or your own music, or dancing during  this dinner.  All food, drinks and dessert are included at this wedding dinner at the restaurant, excepting, special decoration, wedding cake and or wines /champagnes from our wine list.

I would like top suggest a few glass votives (3 usd each) table runners at any color (at 7 usd each) this will light up the scene beautifully!

Hope this helps, sorry for putting 3 big posts in a row!

Thanks for the info Colleen.

I just had one of my bridesmaids email me and say that she won't come to the wedding if a certain guest comes.  The second girl is her cousins ex and she says she's a terrible person and if she goes my bm wouldn't have a good time, and there would be drama.  I'm quite frustrated by the predicament this has put me in.

Thanks! I spent numerous hours looking for my bouquet. I think this is the hardest part about having a wedding so far away - trying to find a picture of everything you want. There is NO such a picture exists!!! I think your combo sounds great! I didn't want to have all white flowers since my FI is also wearing all white.

You can make your just bigger to differentiate from bridesmaids bouquet. My bridesmaids dress has 2 shades of blue and light green. Then they are carrying something white & pink flowers. I am all over the place with my colors. But who cares!!! I do think pink and blue go together :)

I heard that WC at the resort act as a MC and ipod controller. I am counting on that so we don't have to ask someone to announce us. 20 Days till our wedding!!!

I will let you know once I am back :)

We have 27 people coming to our wedding. What time is your ceremony? We definitely wanted to have the sit down dinner. Even though it's more money than we wanted to pay for (we are doing the $39 per person family style dinner), this is something we didn't want to skip on. I heard that many people changed their clothes and hang out at the pool all night. We didn't want to go out too far since we do want to go back to our room at some point and enjoy the moments together :)

We are also having the rehearsal dinner night before the wedding to have a chance to introduce everyone. Not everyone knows everyone...

You got plenty of time to think about what you want to do!!!

FYI - This is my preliminary schedule:

1pm: start to get ready (hair, makeup, etc)

4pm: private pictures (we decided to meet each other before the ceremony to take some pictures)

5:30pm: ceremony

6:00pm: open bar (we decided to have the bar open first and start the dinner around 7pm)

7:00pm: first dance & cake cutting (we only have the photographers for 5 hrs so decided to cut the cake in the beginning so we can have pictures of it)

7:30pm: dinner

I have a party of 25 coming over with me and at the minute im trying to decide whether or not to have a private party or have the free option in one of the restaurants??? but then i have no idea what we will do afterwards, anyone who has any idea please share with me!!

Thanks in advance,

Haha.. my FI is not into dancing at all. We debated on the dance floor (maybe use the yoga platform area?) but decided to just have it.

Another idea that I have yet to discuss with FI because not sure he will like...is to have a night in Cancun afterwards...maybe some of the clubs will do a discount because it is a wedding....

I am sorry to hear that. I had a similar situation... my FI's parent got divorced few years ago. my soon to be father-in-law has a girlfriend and wanted to bring her to the wedding but my soon to be mother-in-law really didn't like the idea. We were really worried about potential arguments or even fights! FIL's girlfriend decided not to come to the wedding... so we kinda avoid that issue.

Did you already invited her? It's hard to UN-INVITE someone...but if she could potentially ruin your wedding, I am not sure if it's a good idea to have her there. NO DRAMA on your wedding day. that is a MUST!!! I am sorry to hear that she put you in this situation. I hope you can figure out what's best for YOU and YOUR FI.

Hey Amy,

Didn't you have the Zocalo Al Fresco for your reception?  That is where we are having ours. My questions to you...how did you decorate?  Did you bring decorations?  Was there something you wished you had brought or done?  Any help would be appreciated!!!  Thanks!msnwink.gif

Yeah Kiara is gone... she was my coordinator and I agree, she was the absolute best! She emailed me a few weeks back and told me she was leaving. It was only a matter oof f time, they give these WC's an insane amount of brides to work with =/

I did, I brought white string lights, paper lanterns, lots of candles, 3 vase submerged orchid centerpieces with floating candles on top, cigar roller, guest book table, cake table, escort card table, manzanita branch decorated etc. I brought all of my decorations except the vases, which I rented. I loved all my decor

I'm going to be honest with you, the only thing about Zocallo al Fresco which may surprise is that there is absolutely NO breeze or fresh air that really comes in there. It's like a hot box and we were all sweating and very hot, that didn't stop us of course and I was dripping with sweat and didn't care because I was having a blast, just realize, that it get's extremely hot in that area.

This was really helpful...as I didn't really know how decorations would really work...it looks like tablerunners and votive candles it is :)  That's a lot saved on flowers...I am still wondering if I would be allowed to take the flowers from the ceremony and bring those in....anyone know the rules for that?  I know I could bring them to a private reception...but are they allowed in Spoon?

Thanks so much!  This is extremely helpful!  I'm hoping that in December it will be nicer in the Zocalo area, I'll keep my fingers crossed!  Another question, do you remember how many lanterns or string of lanterns you brought.  I don't want to bring 3 strings and only have to us 1 or whatever.

I  just heard from Kiara today - very sad!  It truly was only a matter of time...too much for each person to handle!

Hope the move went well!!!

Congrats on the new place. Where did you move to?  I'd love to grab coffee once I am back...I am in the home stretch. Things are finally coming together but now I am so worried about the weather. Fingers crossed.
