Ok I just tried to multi quote, and it was taking way to much effort... 

 

I still can't open attachments, so I can't see all of your gorgeous monograms and bouquet unless the picture is in the actual post :(

Did you have table cards? I am using photo frames with place cards as we are doing a make-shift photo booth section and the frames will fit the photos, hence place cards and favors in one. :) Maybe I can just each table member's photo frame with placard lined up together and I can put a table number flat on the table in front of that row. Wow, I hope that makes sense when you read it. For a professional communicator sometimes I have real issues. :)

And maybe I can request a touch of purple in my bouquet and BM's can have the all white and green. I guess I'll have to wait and see what the quoted Lomas comes back with are like. I wish I felt comfortable sending them pictures of two bouquets and saying, "merge these" or saying "can you add a hint of purple" to the white and green bouquet but I am scared of what I will see when I get them. Honestly, I know that the flowers are going to look spectacular because all of yours did (better than the photos you sent to Lomas actually) but I am bit of a control freak. Not that I need to have an exact thing but there are some things that I just don't want. I am fearful that's exactly what I will get. So I figure better to furnish them with photos and asking them to duplicate. 

 

Oh well... ok so I didn't give you enough info, sorry! I am pretty anal, I made a spreadsheet of the layout and numbered the tables and we gave them a seating chart of exactly how we wanted it. When we got there we kinda realized the tables would be in different areas which is fine. I had an escort card table and place cards at every seat yes. We worked it out but to be honest, after the rehersal dinner/mojito meet-up (my MOH made name tags with titles "Uncle John" "Bridesmaid Shawna") and everyone was BFF's and knew one another by the wedding. Granted I had half the people you did. I HIGHLY recommend a meetup... with booze :) We had booze and an Abba tribute band which apparently is the recipe for success!

 

Green and white (and black) were my colors! My accent pop color was fushcia. I think the lavender will be great because it keeps with your muted tone but adds another dimension of color which I like.

I know. I am sure it is like 1 million times better I am just getting down to crunch time and hate to have to learn it all over again. I am just so glad that it's back. I freaked out earlier today when I saw that it was being redone. I really assumed it was going to be down for a week or so. They ladies did a great job getting it done so quickly.

Did you order your brochures? Did you not have to pay for additional pictures you have to upload?

I am in a panic mode bc I need to modify my order and it won't let me. I am calling first thing in the morning to VISTAPRINT and see if they can work something out for me. Ahhhh!!!rant.gif

Funny thing is I tried a long time ago to post this pic and it wouldnt work. I think it was too large. So I guess it saved and with the system update, up it went. That's an old goofy photo of us but good memories. We were at a Barack Obama fundraiser at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel (the Pretty Woman Hotel) and Babs performed. Pretty amazing, That was a drunken bathroom pic at the after party. Yes, I brought FI in the bathroom with me. I told you it was drinking night. That was pre-baby, obviously. :)

I just finished mine like 5 minutes ago. I didn't include ay images with the exception of our wedding monogram and it is really text heavy. I want FI to proof read before I order. I have been staring at them for too long and just can't go through it again. (It is SOOO text heavy. Every page of the brochure is completely full. We have a lot of non-travelers traveling and I wanted to answer their every question ahead of time. Here's hoping the brochure does its job. Doubtful but fingers crossed.)

Amy, thanks for the advice about seating. I think I'll probably do the same thing. 

 

And yes, I am doing our meet-up on Thursday night at the beach BBQ. Most of my guests will be in by then and Thursday is my birthday so that's perfect. Yeah I was planning to ask a BM to make tags for everyone like "Laura, Cousin of the Bride" and "Brett, Groom's Childhood Friend" that way everyone knows what to talk about with each other. (Ha...that's assuming that they only want to talk about us. So vain and presumptious) Also planning to have another BM (FI's sister) pass out the OOT bags and weekend itinerary at the BBQ that way we don't have to pay Lomas to do it. Speaking of, how did you handle that? Did they pass out at check-in, did you do it yourself?

I'm sorry, I can't see when your wedding is. Maybe you should send out a save the date postcard. There are free options on VistaPrint, that way you don't have to rush into sending out an invite that you may not be in love with. If your wedding is closer someone mentioned a website (I think it was Maggie) where she typed the info in on the computer. Maybe that site would work for you.

I never saw you ask about the webinar, but yes....I was informed of the date and time by our very first TA. I wouldn't rely to heavily on that as a good sign though because she pushed us off in the webinar so that she could avoid answering some of the vital questions we were asking. And after the webinar still didn't do her job for her, we kicked her to the curb. I didn't think you would be interested seeing as they usually cater to the "not yet booked" bride and groom, but if you'd like for me to ask my TA when the next one is and how to get you on it....just say the word.

Thanks for the offer but a lot of the work I need to do is with finalization of plans. For instance, I still don't know how long I'm staying out there because of the whole 7 day requirement for the "Free" pkg. Plus, I'm beginning to second guess brining my own flowers after I saw AmyB's and she said they cost $50 BUT I still haven't been able to get an idea of what available to me for that price. It's really just things that I want to get out of the way and not wait until the last minute to decide upon. I really appreciate your concern though, you're so sweet!

 

Oh and for the webinar, I was just under the impression the room upgrade would be available to all who participated. I really just wanted the room upgradelove.gif

Ditto on not using theknot.com anymore. That was always my go-to reference but I have no use for it anymore. The only thing I can do on there that I like is the budget calculator, but since we've pretty much thrown that out the window I doesn't really make sense anymore.

Good morning ladies!  I see if you miss a week you miss a lot on here!!!!  What's up with the new look and why are our tickers gone???? Well if we still had the ticker mine would say "3 DAYS!!!!"  I can't believe it's here already.  We're on the way to the courthouse now to do the legal ceremony and then we leave for Mexico early tomorrow morning.  I've been packing and getting everything together which is why I haven't been on here in a week but we're pretty much ready to go.  I forgot to take pictures of everything for my planning thread before I packed it so I guess I'll take pictures in Mexico when we unpack.

I was originally going to do all white and green flowers but now think that there needs to be some more color. What do you think?

To go along with the ones I've shown you, which do you think would work best given my adversion to too much color and wanting everything to feel antiquey and romantic?

Congrats and welcome.

Are you using a travel agent or just going through the resort? If you use a travel agent that person should be able to negotitate room rates for you.

Also, make sure you are looking into all the packages available. I have 32+ rooms booked and we qualified for a lower group rate, the bride and groom stay free promotion, 20% off private events and a free cocktail reception for 50 guests.

Take my advice and look into every promotion the other girls on this thread mention getting. That's what I did and now I have saved myself well over 3k.

In addtion to all the incentives, I also talked the resort in letting me downgrade to the free wedding package even though I am getting married on the sky deck. (I do have to pay the $1700 for the location though). Originally when I booked the lowest category avialble if booking the sky deck was the silver package but other girls mentioned that they qualified for the free wedding package. I asked and they gave it to me.

I am using BestDestinationWeddings.com for a travel agent and they offer the incentives amandamarieb mentioned above. 

 

I do have a question regarding the bride and groom stay free though - my FI and I are interested in a premium suite but I'm wondering how that works with the B&G staying free.  I would assume the free room would only apply to a standard room but I will look into it with my TA and let you all know when I find out.  If anyone knows now and could let me know, that would be fabulous too!  We would like to get the stay for free and maybe just pay the difference in rooms if possible.
