Hello all,

Did any of you Sandals bride's upgrade your transportation to the private car? If not, how was the bus ride? Did your dress survive the journey? We are torn on whether or not it is worth it to splurge on private transportation ($220 for a town car just seems way over-priced to me...)

Thanks!

I called about it. I was hoping we would get there sooner by private transfer but you don't from what they said.

My dress held up really well. I had it squished in a bag that was small and I actually had to fold the dress a couple of time for it to fit but I did a trial run (put it in the bag over night) the week before and then just hugn it back up. It did just fine. Not to mention the heat in Jamaica is bad! All I did when I got there was hagn my dress up and open up the french doors. What wrinkles were in it were gone by the first night!

We thought about the alternatives too, but they seemed way too pricey. There were probably only 15 people on our bus going to the resort, and it was a large one - Greyhound style. There was an open overhead compartment on our bus. I just laid my dress out on that, and it worked perfectly.

Sandals also has a new honeymoon package that includes private transfers with champagne, fruit and chocolate, the private ocean side dinner for two, breakfast in bed one day, rose petal bath for two, a couples champagne massage and a bunch of other stuff. That may work!

As far as the transfers to Ocho Rios- I've had both the large greyhound type bus and also small shuttles that are packed tight so if you are worried about your dress and taking a private transfer it would really depend on the dress and material. If the dress won't hold up well it woould be worth the expense to take a private transfer!

Typically the private transfer will take much less time ( I had a private transfer from SGOR to Sandals Whitehouse through MoBay ) and he only took about an hour 15 minutes to get to Mobay. The shuttle going from Mobay to SGOR took two hours 15 minutes! Honestly the drive should really only take an hour and a half- an hour 45 minutes!
