Hi ladies!

I am having my destination wedding at the Barcelo Colonial in May 2010. I was just wondering if anyone had an update on the package prices for 2010? Does anyone know approx when they are coming out? I would just email the WC but it takes so long for them to return the email! Thanks!

Hi TrishB12!

I'm getting married at the Barcelo Resort May 29, 2010. In the email I received from my WC, she stated that the new 2010 packages would not be available until June. I received that email in Feb, and have not received any new information yet... Hope this helps.

So for the brides who have already booked with the Barcelo I have a question. In order to start planning the specific details of the wedding (eg cake, chair bow colors, decorations, etc) do you have to have your wedding date confirmed? Or can you start the planning with the WC before you've sent your confirmation of flight/hotel? When they send out the 2010 package prices do they give you pictures of your options for decorations/locations etc? How does it work?

Hey guys! I am new to this forum and considering the Barcelo Maya. It really depends on flights etc... but they seem to be fairly reasonable for larger groups (we are going to be 40-50ppl). I had originally thought of the Grand Palladium but for groups over 40 it becomes incredibly expensive.

I have a question that needs clarification... Some resorts say you have to be there 3 days before the wedding, and some (incl. the Barcelo Maya) say you have to be there 4 days before the wedding. Which is it? I want to get married on a Thursday, but if we get married at the Barcelo with the 4 day rule it seems your only choice is the Friday... unless you come a whole week earlier and have your honeymoon first. :S What are other brides doing? We are planning on having the legal ceremony.........

We flew in on a Sunday and were married on the Friday. It worked out great we still had a couple of days after the wedding! But it does suck...it would be really nice to be married early and enjoy the whole week!
