My Vision Foundation - Breast Cancer - NEED YOUR SUPPORT...

Many of you have read my postings before on FI's cousin, Alice, who found out a few months ago she has breast cancer at the age of 31. She has started up an organization called My Vision Foundation to help young women with this disease. Currently, the foundation offers financial assistance with harvesting and freezing eggs, a free nude photography session for these women to celebrate their bodies before they change from going through surgeries and treatments, and support through networking.

There are a few things that Alice is currently searching for. The first is for any photographers and possibly videographers who would be interested in offering their services to the foundation. It's her goal to build a national database of photographers by September of this year. Please IM me or go to My Vision Foundation's website Home and click on "Programs" at the bottom of the screen. More information is available there.

The second thing she is asking is to have people sign up for their e-mail newsletter. It's located at the top righthand corner of the website and you simply type in your email address under "Sign up for our Email Newsletter" and hit "Go". The foundation will not give your e-mail address to anyone, so no worries about that! We are just trying to get the word out about My Vision Foundation.

Please check out the foundation's website: Home

I've been really moved by Alice and am trying to help out in any way I can. I think it's amazing what she has done, especially since she was diagnosed only a few months ago. Thank you for taking the time to read this and please share it with anyone you want.

Also, for those of you who sponsored me for the Breast Cancer Walk, thank you once again. I will be posting some pictures on that soon. Alice has them, but she's prepping for her second round of chemo on Wednesday, so I'm not sure when I will get them for her. Please remember her in your prayers.

Hi Lucy. Thanks for asking. My Vision is hosting its third event this coming weekend--a poker tournament in Redondo Beach, Cali. I wish so badly that I could go, but a cross-country flight just is not feasible right now.

Alice had her third chemo treatment a couple weeks ago and this one really took a toll on her. She's a fighter though! She's feeling much more like herself now than she was lsat week. Her fourth and final treatment is scheduled for the middle of next week. Her parents will be flying out to be with her.

I just saw your thread and in reading it, it brought back so many memories. My sister was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma two years ago and underwent Chemo and a stem-cell transplant. My mother recently passed from Pancreas cancer. There is a wonderful site, Caringbridge.com, where you can post a journal and other well-wishers can sign your guestbook. This was a wonderful and inspirational site that my sister could update regularly with her progress.

I wish the best for Alice and please tell her to stay strong! She has a wonderful support system in you. I will make sure to visit the site and sign-up for the newsletter.

Thanks for the website! I will be sure to forward it to her.

A quick update...Alice had to do a fifth chemo treament, but decided they didn't need the 6th one they scheduled for her. Each treatment has been harder and harder on her, so she was relieved when they canceled the last one.

Alice does consulting work and had a huge contract with a company in New York. That company just cut about half of their staff, including Alice, so she just lost her main source of income. It's definitely been a tough year.

On a slightly different topic, FI father (Alice's uncle) is looking for a match for bone marrow. Please prayers for that in additionto Alice's situation!
