I'll try to help you. I was having a problem with this too (very frustrating). Hopefully you can see the smilies when you are posting a message? (this was my problem...I couldn't see the smilies) If you can't see them, you'll need to adjust your User cp settings. ...if this is the problem, let me know and I'll find you the thread that explains how to fix it.
