Hi Jessicalynn! (aka Mrs. Berg)

I was originally thinking about mailing stuff down there, but after reading about how unreliable the mail system is down there I decided that I would just pack it and pay for the extra luggage.  I assume it will probably cost about the same as it would to ship it and I don't have to worry about it getting lost in the Mexican postal service.  Just remember that your luggage has to be 50lbs or less (I would double check with your airline), so if you pack it make sure you divvy it out accordingly.  I also made sure to have a direct flight so I don't have to worry about it not making the transfer flight  :)

Are you getting super excited!  I know we are!

Hello everyone!! Just wondering if you have had any luck with figuring out which documents you need to get married. I have received 2 different answers from Connie (yes I need to ship them and translate them 3 months in advance and no I don't need to do that)... I am from Canada, not sure if that matters, but does anyone know the final answer on this?

Also, they recently changed their photo vendor, does anyone have any info on them? And if they recommend them??

Wedding date, February 14, 2014... Just over 10 months to go!!! :)

Thanks in advance!

Hi Qupid!

They made the switch with photographers right before we got married so I had the information sent over to me in case we wanted to change to them. Here is the link to the webpage: http://www.photo-pro.com.mx/web/app.php/home The contact is Damarys Dias, the email is: [email protected]

We didn't end up going with them in the end because I just wasn't comfortable with what I saw but their pricing was very similar to Adventure if you had already quoted them.

Sorry I don't have any info on paperwork, I'm a fellow Canuck but thought that whole thing was so confusing as well so we just did the paperwork here and had the blessing ceremony there. No one knew the difference and we saved a ton of stress about it all.

Good luck!

Hi Trace!

I hope your days as a married woman have been blissful :) I have three questions for a fellow Iberostar bride.

1. Aisle Length: How long do you think it takes to walk down the aisle from where they start you? The pictures look pretty long, but would you say 30 seconds or so?

2. Ceremony Music: Did you have music during your ceremony? I have specific songs that I want to play via an ipod or sound system. Did you use that? If so, did you think it was loud enough.

3. Mic: Did you use a mic for the ceremony? If so, did the hotel provide it or did your DJ?

I'm officially at 60 days!!! I can't wait. :) Any information you can provide would be so appreciated.

Thank you. You're the best.

I recently got married at IB tucan. I am also a fellow canuck! All we needed was....passports andbirth certificates. (Now this isnt paperwork however...)...we had to be there 4 full weekdays prior to our wedding day. If you have been previously married i vaguely recall alexandra saying you would need to bring a few other documents but this did not apply to us, so i am not sure. For those planning on buying favors down there.....not a problem!! We made the mistake of bringing everything with us and regretted it. Imagine 5th aveue(main shopping street in playa del carmen) as buy a stripmall...of souvenir shops. Blocks and blocks long! The only advice i have for you on that subject is...do not!!!! Buy the first ones you see! Example: we were not going to have a wedding topper, however when we walked into one of the shops we came across a stone day of the dead bride and groom and decided we loved it! They were asking 45$(us). We tried to haggle the man was set on that price so we thought ok we will finish our ahopping and come back, As we were walking away he turned and said ok ok! How much do you guys want to pay to take it right now?....we said 20....he said 25 and we thought that was an amazing deal and bought it. Literally 3 doors down we spotted the EXACT same thing...asking price 6$(us)!!! All we could do was laugh! Sorry about the long story here haha didnt realise how log this post was oops!

Let me tell ya "Hello amigo come check out my shop" Is a VERY popular phrase on 5th avenue lol. But have fun! We also went an extra week and that was the best decision we made! Playa del carmen is a 7$us taxi ride to iberostar tucan. So even if you realise you forgot something....town is very close! (We must have gone into town like 4 times!) Have fun! We loved it/had a blast. And alexandra is very helpful and friendly!
