Buy crinoline before or after fittings?

Recommended Posts

if youre going to have crinoline at all, you need to have it before. my alterations lady refused to do anything to my dress if i didnt have my undergarments or crinoline if i was using it.

BEFORE! my underskirt had to be taken up, or else it would have shown out from under the dress (i'm only 5'3".)

also, the dress wont lay right if you dont have it on, but plan on getting one later, when they alter it it will be totally different without the poof underneath.

Thanks ladies! I thought it was after so it's good to know that I should get on it. I was just looking at them online and they don't come in different 'heights'. Is that normal? I thought you would need to get one that's the right length. Or am I just looking at the wrong websites?

Also, I was planning on having her sew cups into the dress so I don't have to wear a bra - or anything else under the dress. I thought most people did this. Should I be looking at undergarments instead of getting it sewn in?

a lot of girls that have low-backed or corset have decided to go with cups, but if it's high backed, like shoulder blades, then i guess it depends on how big your girls are :) if you need a lot of support or boost, then you probably want a bridal bra. but if you are small and high, then cups are probably ok. i guess it depends on the support of your dress as well, loose or fitted.

oh, and some girls like cups only because it's not as hot in the sun and heat as a full length bridal bra would be.

lol...thanks for the picture Rachel! Pictures always work better for me. By the way, you look GORGEOUS!!! in that picture - bra and all.

Since my girls aren't tiny, maybe I'll start bra shopping.

My dress isn't getting hemmed at all, since I'm tall it works perfect. If anything, I would have them make it longer.
