Dad's attire- need some advice! (a bit long)

Recommended Posts

Okay, my dad wanted to wear a tux too! LOL! He kept on telling my mom that he was going to wear one...period. Finally I told him that we will go shopping together for his outfit, once my FI figures out what he will wear. He ended up being okay with that.

I think he felt left out cause my mom and I went shopping for her dress together. My dad also muttered something about not knowing what he was going to wear cause no one has paid attention to him. LOL...he is a little bit drama, so I ignored it.

boht our dads AND the groom are wearing a tan suit at our wedding. your dad is going to be mega-effin hot in a tux on the beach... let him know you spoke with your WC or something and they said everyone should wear something light and breezy like light colored linen... then you pass the blame onto someone who cant feel bad about telling your dad what to wear, but you still will make your groom happy :)

HAHA- He certainly wouldn't listen to my mom! (they're bitterly divorced)

I think I will try the approach of taking him shopping. He might actually like that and feel like he's included a bit in the bridal party (even though there isn't one lol). Colin's okay with it provided it's not the exact same outfit. So we'll change them up somehow... it would be easier if Colin would wear a tie but he really doesn't want to.

maybe as a compromise, he can take some pics with you beforehand in a tux, and then change into a tan suit for the actual wedding. it takes men like 39 seconds to change outfits, so it wouldn't hurt your timeline.

i'd tell him straight out. my dad wouldn't be offended, but that's my dad!
