I'm so sorry I'm late to this! I feel just terrible for your Aunt and family reading all this. I cannot believe that hospital discharged her!!!! Omg that makes me angry! I will be thinking of you guys and waiting to see how she's doing. Hopefully they can diagnose this issue really really soon!!!

OMG! I cannot believe they would send her home!!!!! I swear healthcare in this country is crap! (no offense to anyone in the healthcare industry) But come on, that makes no sense!! Rachel i'm keeping your aunt and your family in my prayers and sending lots of positive thoughts your way. I hope that it's just something like an adverse reaction to a medication that can be easily fixed. smile03.gif

Rachel I am so sorry that she took a turn for the worse. I hope they get this straightened out soon. I would really suggest going to another hospital. The hospital's inaction the first time is really unnaceptable!

I'm sorry you and your family are going through this, I hope things get better for her.

I am so sorry to hear about this. I am a nurse in a small community up here in Canada. I now that when we have people coming in with seizures, we treat the seizure itself and then the problem causing them. If we aren't sure of the cause, even after the tests that we are able to do, we send them to bigger hospital for further testing. Basically, we don't make them make their own appointments, but they get sent into one right away.

I hope everything gets sorted out with your Aunt, and I will be thinking of you and your family. Keep us posted!!!!

Rachel, I'm so sorry you and your family are going through this. I don't know any adults with seizures but my friend's little boy had 2 when he was a baby and scared the *hit of out her! The baby was always very hot and I've heard sometimes high fevers (from vaccines or otherwise) can cause them.

I hope your aunt figures out what's going and and feels better very soon. Hopefully it is a reaction to something and they can give her something to make it stop.

To release her seems crazy.. what if she didn't have family around her?
