What is lomas? Is that just a bus/van rental place? Yeah, I want to make sure and do my homework so our guests have options for riding into playa or going to cozumel. Did you take a trip to either of those places?

I'm curious how smooth it is to get to either place.
Lomas might not be your tour guys. We booked through funjet & they are the funjet reps at the hotel. They were just pure sketchy. The guy tried to tell us that we had to book an entire van for $60 just to go to paamul, because if we took a cab they wouldn't pick us up.

It was a lie. About 75% of what those guys say is a lie to get money. You can just call a cab from an office where the cab drops you off. It was a few bucks each for the ride over.

A few guests took a cab to playa. we never had time. We did a chartered van through sinal tours for a trip to coba. I posted a review & the contact info in a thread. other people on here have posted about other good charter van groups.

Lomas is the people that work through Funjet. They shuttled us from the airport to the resort and took care of any excursions we were interested in. Our guys were great and they took good care of us. You can book just about anything through them.

All of the non-motorized equipment for the water is FREE every day. Well, included in your all inclusive. :o)

There is a FREE shuttle that runs twice a day to Playa del Carmen. It drops you off for 3-4 hours and picks you back up in the same spot. We did the night one because it wouldn't be so hot for shopping, but the bus was almost an hour late picking us up. Not a huge deal, but it was about 11 when it got there and we were exhausted. If you go, the bars and restaurants are pretty good... but talk people down! The people in small shops will bug the crap out of you but you pretty much name what you will pay for stuff. Also, there were a few nights on the resort when vendors set up in the center of everything and you could buy the same type stuff without ever leaving.

Forgot to mention, you can take the free shuttle to Playa... then just take a cab if you are ready to go back to the resort when you are finished shopping. We used Lomas to go to Xel-Ha and paid about $15-20 more pp than we would have paid at Xel-Ha to get in. Transportation was included but loading up in cabs would have saved money overall.

Can anyone tell me what the upgraded suites at Catalonia are like? We have some guests that are thinking about upgrading to suites so that the children and adults would have separate sleeping quarters, but I can't find anywhere what the layout of the room is like. are the sleeping areas separate with the sofa bed in the living room and the king bed in the other room or are the beds together in one room with the living room just being separate?

This is what the description of our suite is.

SUITE
One bedroom with king bed, 2 plasma TVs, terrace with mini-pool, separate living room with pull-out sofa, ceiling fan, mini-bar, special amenities, room safe, full bathroom with hair dryer and direct phone access.

Hope that helps! When are you getting married pbobzin?

Thanks! I'm pretty fond of it myself too! I'm using Ten4 Design Studio, they are doing my STD Magnets, invitations, thank-you's, seating chart, favor tags, etc. I think pretty much everything! I live in China so it's very hard to plan a wedding from here. They have been so helpful and very reasonably priced!

Wow, 3 months till your wedding! How exciting!

Good Luck with the rest of your planning!

Hey ladies-

Just wondering what you guys are doing for centerpieces? Do you know if they provide you with them if you have a private reception? I'm really hoping I don't have to haul centerpieces all the way there.

Also, I am wanting to have a pinata at the reception, can any of you recall seeing any near the resorts shopping areas?
