Yeah I'm in touch with Cora thanks. She sent me an email to confirm the ceremony date. Thank you for the offer. I know what you mean about the 'laid back approach', sure it will be great once we are there!

Wow!! Looks like she really enjoys her job! That's good to see! Your dress is just beautiful! I'm looking for something similiar! I live in China so luckily I can have my "Dream Dress" made here very cheap!!!

Did you have a flowergirl or ring bearer? I wondered how they worked the rose petals... I'm guessing that is an extra cost. Also, what time was your wedding at?

Thanks for posting the pic!

Yeah, she is so friendly. The entire staff was wonderful.

the roses were no extra cost. I was really confused by the petal toss. I thought my guests would throw them so I bought a bunch of organza bags. Then the petals never got delivered to my room so I decided not to worry about it. It was a shock when I came down the aisle & cora & another girl were throwing petals at me.

It did work out better that they threw them, not guests, because the guests are under that tent.

We didn't have a flower girl or ring bearer. We just carried up each other's rings.

The ceremony was at 4 in June. It was really hot, but the ceremony was short. The ideal time is probably 2 hours before sunset. Actually I'm not sure. I would think wedding photographers would be the best to answer that. I'll ask some people and get back to you.

I didn't want to wait until late, because I didn't want to be cooped up in the room all day. I also get hungry early & get the shakes so I wanted to have dinner by 6:30 with plenty of time for pictures after the ceremony. 4 was nice, because the creperie (ice cream shop at the hotel) opened at 5. Our guests grabbed ice cream while we took our pictures. we also had ice cream after taking pictures. it is seriously so hot.

thanks for the compliment on my dress. It was only $200 at macys. it was an evening gown, not a wedding dress so it was so cheap. Another girl found one like it for $50.

I agree, beautiful dress Morgan! I want to be there now, looks great.

My dad told me 'theres no such thing as a stupid question', so Im going to ask: How does the TTD work? Do you do it the next day or when? Im a little slow on the wedding thing, and never even heard of TTD before joining this forum.

Hi claire.cw.watson,

I'm doing my TTD the day after the ceremony right at the resort. You can also go to the caves or the cenote for great pics at an extra cost. I prefer to just do mine on the beach or in the pool. If you do a search you can find some great pics of TTD sessions from Cat brides. Here is a link, If you search under galleries you will see a TTD session that one of our BDW members Angie did at the resort: MEXICO Destination Wedding Photography, Wedding Photojournalism throughout the Mayan Riviera

It's a fairly new thing. well, within the last 3 years. I had not heard of it until I joined here.

Trash The Dress

The idea is you don't need your dress after the wedding so why not get some great pictures. Some people trash it like cover the dress in paint or cut it to pieces. There is even a picture of the bride on fire. But on BDW, it's usually just rolling around in the water. To me it was a way to get really fun pictures & not have to worry if the dress got messed up in the process.

I trashed a dress like mine the day before the wedding, just becasue it worked out with our plans. We went to a cenote for that one. Thenm on the night of the wedding, we went into the ocean. The next day I re-trashed the dress with 2 friends who brought their dresses along.

People also do day after sessions where they have another opportunity to take romantic pics. It doesn't have to be a trash the dress. also, dresses rarely get trashed in the ocean. it really jsut makes them cleaner.
