Iberostar Paraiso June 2009

Recommended Posts

I finally have an official wedding date. I am getting married at the Iberostar Parasio del Mar in RM on June 20, 2009. We chose the del Mar because your guests have to stay at the same resort as the wedding. We wanted an AI that everyone could afford but that is still beautiful. I think we will stay at the Lindo for our honeymoon or maybe we will switch hotel. Our first two choices for dates were taken so after talking to our families, we found a date that works for everyone. I received my email confirmation today from Gabriela! Thanks to BWD for all of the info!

I am 99% sure that I am going to book at the Iberostar Paraiso Del Mar as well. I am waiting to hear back to see if the date I would like is available. I am requesting June 26, 2009. If that works out - we will be at the resort at the same time!!!

What are you planning post ceremony? Are you doing a private reception or dinner at the Ala Carte restaurant?

I am considering having the ceremony and then a private cocktail hour with mariachi band. After the cocktail hour we would have dinner at one of the restaurants. But I am still unsure about that - I am waiting on the pricing for a private reception. I am torn about what to do.

Any suggestions?

Ladies,

I have reached to the Iberostar but have not heard back yet. I'm checking a few other resorts and am actually going down there in a couple weeks to meet with the coordinators and see the places. The god thing about the Iberostar is that I think they only do a limited amount of weddings a day (I heard one a day?), so that avoids the "puppy mill" feeling... Were the room prices reasonable compraed to other resorts? Priscila

We are having our wedding at the Del Mar in December and I found the room rates to be very reasonable. We are probably in low season - but our rates worked out to about $170.00 per room/per night. (note that Apple Vacations is the best rate around that I can find.....the hotel rates on their site were much more expensive).

I'm right in the midst of deciding private restaurant (with a hefty rental) or take a chance in the public restaurant, music or no music, cocktail hour before dinner or not...etc. All the fun stuff!! :)

Just wondering who you used for a photographer?  Did Iberostar have a contact with Adventure Photos when you were married in June 2009?  Now they have a contract with Adventure Photos and if I don't use them, I will have to pay them $500.  Just wondering if they are professional photographers.  I have a professional photographer in mind in the Riveria Maya that I would like to use.

Also, just wondering if you did a private dinner or if you just had it at one of the restaurants for no additional price.  I'm leaning towards away from the private dinner as we have 38 people attending and that should take up a lot of the restaurant already.

Any insights would be appreciated!  Thanks!
