The DJ included his equipment, but not the speakers. 2 of the speakers we paid for as part of the wedding package at Al Cielo (you can find their prices and what the package includes online - it does not include dinner, open bar, the various rentals I mentioned in my review, nor a bunch of other things it turns out I needed, especially for my size wedding).

The extra 2 speakers cost us: $150 each, so $300
The electric backup generator was: $450
The LED lighting around the dance floor was: $700
The dance floor itself was: $1000 (including set up/breakdown/shipping)

I'm not sure if the DJ's cost was specific to Al Cielo due to a deal or not.

The Jazz band's cost, if not part of the package, would have been a lot more than what we paid for the DJ, and they only played 2 45 minute sets. I'll try to find the quote but it was pricier, so it made sense to choose that as part of the package (which included either 2 sets of Jazz band or 4 hours of DJ).
Thank you so much for this! Hopefully Donaji will get back to me with the final numbers soon!!! It has been a while, and no response yet!

SunBride - We probably spent at the lower range of what a beach wedding of a similar caliber and size would have cost us in Los Angeles, which is significantly more than average wedding in the US costs, and even a lot more than the average wedding in Los Angeles, but beach weddings in SoCal can get pricey. So in that respect, we felt that we got our money's worth in Mexico.

I'd say my photographer and videographer choices didn't help my budget much either, but those, in addition to things like our attire and so forth, wouldn't have been much different whether I had it here or in Mexico!

I have a breakdown - Al Cielo's wedding package, extra Sunday site fees and service charges, open bar, food, cake, extra rentals, music, flowers, photographer, videographer, transportation, extra wedding stuff (placecards, programs, pashminas), hair/makeup, wedding dress, shoes, earrings, groom's suit, bridesmaid & groomsmen outfits (we bought these for them), ketubah, and wedding rings, in addition to the other stuff, such as welcome out of town bags, rehearsal dinner, group outing, travel/hotel costs, and invitations, if you are interested - PM with what you want to know and I'll provide more details.

Read your review too btw, nice details! We considered Dreams actually, but wanted a sit-down dinner on the beach, which they wouldn't offer for our size group, and the room prices were a little high for some of our guests.

Riviera (Anna) - I haven't heard back from Donaji either - odd!

What a great review and a dream wedding! When we were planning our wedding very early last year, we considered Al Cielo, but I didn't know that they had wedding coordinators already. Wished we knew about Donaji! Too bad because we really wanted to get married there. I am so happy for you! Your wedding was awesome! And if I am to have a wedding now, yours would definitely be one of those I would try to "copy"! Thanks for writing your review!

riviera - Donaji finally wrote me back with the names of the DJ and Band. I'll edit my original review with the info, but here it is too:

Jazz Band - Chivo Azul

DJ - Acoustic Project

Cake was from Walter Lubcke ( not open to public) - but very good, just too much of it!

I just met with Donaji and she mentioned that they were in the process of changing their policies and prices. They now do not allow outside vendors which is the main reason we decided not to get married there. The have a wedding package which includes music, flowers, a/v, minister, marriage certificate. It does not include food and beverage.
