I'm an April Groom, and I too am noticing that a lot of people are getting married next April. We asked select people in our group to make their deposits to secure our rate, and will be sending out save -the-date cards with an info insert in order to facilitate bookings. I hope by the time everyone gets it, there is still room at the hotel.

I don't believe we had any trouble booking from the United States. All of our group going from Detroit were able to get rooms.

My TA asked Sunquest and they assured there are lots of oceanview rooms still available. Most of my group has already booked so I am calm again.

*lol* sorry to be a poopsicle

Listen...I am fine with you being a poopsicle as long as someone keeps me on track...I actually forget to do stuff for the wedding because it is so easy not to do anything. When a poopsicle comes along and reminds me I need to nag all my guests I am very appreciative. Thanks :)

Are you having trouble getting your replies back? I am finding this now....the ones I knew that were gonna book are and have sent replies back but lots haven't and my RSVP date is next week.
*lol* My MOH isn't even booked *long story* but obviously I know she is coming.
Maybe I need to nag too as I want to book my reception dinner.

I would try another booking company (if that makes sense)

I had the same problem at RIU Vallarta. My TA was using Gogo Vacations for most of our bookings - we used all of the rooms allowed by Gogo Vacations and so he went with another company and they had rooms.

I think it has to do with the number of rooms each vacation company is allowed.

Tell that to your TA and see if more rooms open up.

Chicklet, you can book your reception dinner location without knowing an exact number of guests......if you know you want Mammee and are definately going to have under 50 then you can for sure book! Or vice versa....I would get on booking asap! When I first tried to book for our after dinner reception for April 2009, the location we wanted was already booked!! I bet January is just like April, it seems that those two months are quickly filling up with brides and their guests!
