Pictures before the ceremony?

Recommended Posts

you don't have to do your pics with your FH before the ceremony if you don't want to see him, you could just do the picks individual with your families, and with your wedding party, and alone, so that all you have left for after the ceremony are a few group shots and then you can focus on pics of the two of you together. This is what we did and it went really well. Also spreading out the photos a bit makes it less tiring.

Hi Im a Negril based photographer and I've taken pictures of the happy couple (not in wedding attire) at different locations before the ceremony. We can relax and have lots of fun. There is a special energy that couple's exude after getting married and with a good photographer, you can get great shots pretty much anytime before dark! The shots before capture the beauty of the place. If you really want shots at a certain time in wedding attire then thats ok too!

You know I toyed with this idea because it seemed that Photographers were able to get so many great photos BEFORE the wedding but it broke my heart to break with the tradition of waiting until I walked into the ceremony for the groom to see me for the first time so I got a great idea from a wedding photo slideshow that had wonderful photo session at the end of the night in the honeymoon suite.

Photos taken of the couple embracing in the room they would spend the night in as newly married husband and wife were so BEAUTIFUL and TENDER and SWEET that I decided that having those moments caputure were what I would rather do. The wedding photos are here:http://www.leighmillerphotography.co...in_and_michael

Almost all of my clients choose to see each other before. A lot of photographers email me to ask about it, so the post is geared to photographers, but it might have some helpful information.

:)
Jill.... you said it great, my thoughts exactly! I have ALWAYS found that the pictures are more relaxed and natural if done before the ceremony as well. Which is exactly why Tim and I will be doing ALL the pictures prior to the ceremony because once we've said our vows it's PARTY TIME!!!!

I always feel awkward and intrusive pulling the couple away from their family members and guests to do pictures and the groom........well 9 times out of 10 can't wait for it to be over and is looking around for someone to get him a drink. I feel like the magic is lost at that point and you're holding them against their will!

The moments leading up to the ceremony are filled with such anticipation and excitement and I want that to be evident in my wedding images... So coming from experience that's why I said screw tradition.... I'm gonna do it my way!
