Also, has anyone who is travelling with Air Transat talked to their travel agent about the three new wedding packages that they are offering at the Barcelohuh.gif They seem quite reasonably priced if you have 10 or 12 people flying out of the same place, etc, but I wonder if you'd get the same level of service from the people at the hotel if they're not getting all of the $$. Txs in advance.
Hi beachbride17 and welcome!
If I were you, I would talk to the 20-30 people you're planning on inviting and ask them if they're able to commit to attending your wedding or not...and I guess it depends on how important it is for you to have every invited guest there or not... good luck with your planning!!

To everyone that is getting an outside photographer,

How are you booking a room for your photographer (if from Mexico)? Do i call the resort? Do I do it on-line? My WP (Xhail) made it VERY clear(for the Palace anyway) that a "guest" at your wedding may phograph BUT NOT an outside photographer. She is just trying to cover her butt in the email since it explicitly states in the 2010 wedding packages that NO OUTSIDE photographers.

Go to Weddings at Barcelo Maya

On the ''Neverending Photos Thread'' you'll see some brides who posted photos from the resort photographer. I don't know. I don't think they are that bad. I guess it just depends what you want. I can see how people would be disappointed to be forced to use someone, but I personally don't understand this new trend in wedding photos. They are so editorial, like you are posing for Vogue magazine or something. I prefer something more real that actually looks like myself and my fiancée.

I specifically asked my WC (Claudia) if I could bring an outside photographer if they were a guest of the hotel and she said yes. (I verified this in more than one e-mail).

As far as booking, your photographer can book their own room or bill you, or your TA can book the room for the photographer and bill it to you...

Hey! Did I forget the gazebo? I guess so, it was late. haha. The gazebo is not by the pool...but it is in an area people walk by to get to the buffet & restaurants at the Palace. There are other ways to go to the dinner though, so I wouldn't think it would be crazy busy, but expect some people walking by.

The reception time can be pushed back to give time for pictures..if you think about it, that is a major perk of a destination wedding. Most weddings I go to have a 2.5 hour gap between the ceremony & reception, but we dont have to travel around to take pictures (so it takes less time) and the guests can go back to their rooms to freshen up in between.

The roof top can fit a decent amount of people, it's pretty big. Claudia said it was an option for us for cocktail hour and we are expecting 50 people. Your WC would also be able to verify if it's big enough for your group.

My email is [email protected] Thanks so much! I'm sure I will have lots of questions for everyone!!!
