Question regarding residency before the ceremony. Since I'm having a symbolic ceremony the email response I received from Jacquelyn stated 2-3 days prior to the ceremony. I'm having the ceremony on Friday. Would the day I fly in count as a business day or the next day? For example, I'm having the ceremony on Friday would I need to fly out on Monday and then Tue is the first business day? Or I would be ok to fly in on Tue? I can email Jacqueln but probably won't hear from her for a few days or weeks since the date is not on hold yet. Thanks ladies.

We had a symbolic ceremony on a Saturday and we arrived at the resort on the Wednesday prior to that.  By the time we got the resort it was close to 2pm, so we didn't really get to do a lot that day other than check in and unpack.  We met with our WC first thing Thursday morning.  I think you'll probably want to get to the resort on Tuesday.

We arrived in Mexico on sunday afternoon, around 4pm or so and our wedding was Wednesday. I don't think it's super strict like a legal ceremony is but more-so that they need some time to prepare with you.

Hi ladies,

I have decided to opt out of the cocktail hour but was hoping I could send my guests to one of the bars while they wait for the reception to start. Did someone say that they served appetizers at the lobby bar? Any bar that you would recommend to send them too?

Thanks!!!!

Has anyone used the videographer onsite - have samples or feedback? I heard from my WC that the vendor fee applies to Photographer & Videographer. I am bringing a photographer from the US, but I am hoping to hire someone local for video. There are two local companies that I have found that have a modern style of work which I would like to hire,  I'm just bumming to have to pay the extra $500 on top. Would love feedback on the on-site company. Thanks!

Our guests were totally happy and wanted to be outside so they hung out at the Coco pool bar and had drinks, they knew they were eating a 4 course dinner once the reception started so my guess is that is why we didn't hear any complaints...they all probably had lunch prior to the ceremony too!

Congratulations on your engagement ladies!

Yes @lilpbc you will want to arrive no later than Tuesday if you're having your symbolic ceremony on Friday. Depending what time your flight arrives on Tuesday, you will want to have 2 full days to meet with the on site wedding coordinator.

Travel packages from Canadian gateways will not be out yet for March 2014, but should be soon in the next coming weeks.

Good luck and happy planning everyone!

Ladies! I just went to book Claudia Rodriquez for two nights, as we are hiring her as our photographer and it only came to $184 for two nights! They have happy days on now, and if the photographer books at the Barcelo Beach or Tropical it is much less expensive. Just thought I'd share that for all who were concerned about paying the $500 fee!!!

The lobby bar would be great for a cocktail hour for drinks, food not so much. I only saw fruit, nuts, and popcorn out mostly, and late at night there were little sandwiches and desserts. But seriously the dinner is 4 courses and SO much food I don't think your guests would want to eat before and depending when your ceremony is they will have likely ate lunch not too long before.

We had our ceremony at Playa Azul so it made sense to have the guests got to the pool bar near by and the reception was right next to that bar as well. I would say whatever bar is closest to your ceremony or reception site would work to send your guests for drinks. I wouldn't waste money on a cocktail hour for sure.
