I chose the Mint Breeze package.... The reasons are that I wanted to have the reception indoors/by the pool and the cost difference. We might have about forty people depending and the extra guest cost for the Strawberry would have been quite a bit.

Also it comes with live music at the ceremony. It would be very elegant I am sure but it would be nice to hear a sample of what they play/sound like and I am curious if you could send them songs that you would like prior.... Hmmm

How is everyone doing with the planning?

Ps. Good luck Laura4ever & Future Mrs. D!! I am sure it will turn out beautiful!

Hey everyone!

I've been reading this blog for months now, and since my wedding is coming up soon (August 19th) its finally time for me to start contributing to some Q and A! I'll start off with a few questions for you all... What are you guys all planning for your reception?? I want to be sure my wedding will be fun, and I'm not sure the mariachis and an ipod will cut it. I know there's a fire breather/dancer performance thing available too, and dj's, but are there any other ideas to make it funhuh.gif

Oh, and has anyone ever heard of doing a (booze) cruise? They have one in cancun that you can do for only $1000, but I want something that's much closer to the hotel. I think the 45 min drive to Cancun is going to kill the moment. Ideas?

Surprise Its Taken - I am going with CancunPhotos.net I know I am not supposed to hire an outside photographer but I'm booking him a hotel room and hoping for the best!! Like almost everyone else, I'm not at all impressed by the hotel's photographer. This guy Sasha is very affordable, and his pics are far better in my opinion. I would have gone with Elizabeth Medina if she was available, she is the only one I was willing to splurge on.

Hmm I figured as much...So then any ideas on what you and your guests will do between the ceremony and the dinner?

I figured if we have a 1pm wedding, that takes about 30mins or so. Then pictures, not sure how long that takes.

I think I"m going with the coconut package too, and my guests (only about 8-10 people) will be just fine with entertaining themselves at the bar /beach until dinner.

I have thought about going the route of renting a room for a local photographer for the night, but I havenâ€t asked around yet about prices or to see whoâ€s available at that time.

Has anyone booked their wedding through Transat using their new wedding packages? If so, did everything go smoothly?

Weâ€re using their Euphoria package, which comes with a photo album and some prints, all of which have to be taken by PhotoCarribean in order to get them. I have looked through all the examples of their work I could find and I donâ€t really like any of it! smile27.gif

I have decided its better to ask forgiveness then ask for permission... So my photographer once I pick is my guest =).

Claudia Rodriguez wouldn't go against hotel policy unless I got it in writing that I was allowed to have her, so I am thinking I am bringing someone from home.
