Sorry, I read a little further in...regarding the photographers, I was told two nights. The resorts are close enough together, that it really wouldn't be a big deal to book them in the others-Beach/Caribe/Tropical/Colonial (my opinion).

On another note of photographers, if you are still looking, I would highly suggest divine light photography. We don't have our photos yet, but I saw some while there, and they are awesome! Brian and Briana were wonderful! They appeared to have shot so much and as the bride and groom, we didn't feel like they were in our face or in the way. Many of our guests also complimented them, on their work, how fun they were, and how well they fit into the party! They have such artistic ideas and their work is phenomenal! They listen to the style and shots that you want. You can find them at dlweddings.com

I gave my photographer the choice between 1 night at the Palace or 2 at the Beach and they chose the Beach. 2 nights at the Beach was actually cheaper than 1 night at the Palace, so it worked out well for me! I emailed Claudia to ask if it would be okay to have a "guest" photograph the wedding and she said since they were staying 2 nights it would be fine.

hello, I finally did get a response, from Victoria. So far we are working on reserving a date. I assume that since my wedding is January 2011, they are not going to give me much time just yet- as they are working on other weddings..I'm just nervous I dont want to wait too long! I still can not get flight quotes, hoping soon!

Cara,
Once you get closer to your date, you'll start getting emails (if you haven't already) going step by step through your entire wedding process. I asked Gabriela early on about the welcome dinner, and then just told her a week ago where we wanted it. We opted for the Brazilian restaurant, for about 36 people on Friday 3.19. That wasn't a problem, and she said that would be fine. Hopefully, that helps!

When I went down for my site visit, Claudia told me she would need a list of names of everyone attending and their travel confirmation numbers about 3 weeks before the wedding. From there, she would be able to try and get everyone rooms in the same general area, and would be able to make reservations for a rehearsal/welcome dinner. We will have between 25-30 guests and she said the restaurant options would be a buffet or late (9pm) seating at the Brazilian restaurant.

I'm starting to get a little frustrated... last email I got from Gabriela, she didn't answer any of my questions, so I re-sent them and almost 3 weeks later now, still no reply... I just sent a 2nd follow-up email, and if I don't hear back within 1 week, I'm going to call the resort to try to talk to her directly... sad.gif

I hear ya, I haven't heard from Gabriela in a LONG time. I'm going to try to email her again and hopefully she'll reply back.

Thanks Esther. I did start doing that process, but once we got to the menu, I asked her some questions about it a few months ago and didn't hear back. I'm surprised you could have that many people in the Brazilian restaraunt. I thought there was a limit to the number of people? We will have between 55-60 guests.

Ahh this makes me soooo nervous! We need to get this figured out. If anyone has had a wedding co-ordinator answer this please post their response! Have any of you past brides delt with this?

It seems if they are not staying there you have to pay the $300, but if they stay (I was told 2 nights) you don't have to. either way, they will allow them and give you no hassle.

For those interested, our pro photographers posted some teaser pics... dlweddings.com (blog)

Again, please feel free to message me with any questions you may have :)
