I agree, this is outrageous smile29.gif. Yes it's for a private bar staff. I think my guests will be fine going to the lobby bar (or somewhere) for an hour while we're getting our pictures done.

Has any past brides hired a Mexican Photographer since the policy of no external vendors changed? *I hate having to ask these questions... it's just so wrong.
This won't be a problem....see my past post where I quoted my WC. As long as your photographer is staying at the hotel and included as a guest at your wedding it's fine.

Well... pebbles... 60 of my guests are going to be from Mexico, 30 from Oregon and 30 from New York. I've told all of the hotels this and not one has mentioned a rule about not allowing mexican residents into the resorts... a rule like that would be against the law in the US... and I would imagine it would be against the law in mexico too. There must be a communication break down and your TA misinterprets/misunderstands something. Must just be a rule about outside vendors - and I'm guessing the rule applies no matter what country the vendor is from.

Hi everybody! I'm probably a futur Barcelo Maya Palace Deluxe bride!

I was looking for Punta Cana but My fiancé and I went to the Barcelo Maya Colonial 2 years ago and it was our best trip, so we thought that Barcelo Palace would be perfect for our wedding.

I will book my date in a few days I think.

I want to thank Erica for a review. Very nice!

I was wondering if the prices for the packages are the same at the Barcelo Maya Colonial then the Barcelo Palace? I have the packages prices for the Colonial.

Also is the WC are the same in both resorts? I was emailing with Gabriela so I don't know if she is in charge for the Palace also...

Quick question about the drinks during the reception. What types of drinks are offered and how does it work? I'm wondering if you walk up to the bar and order drinks or if you place orders with servers and they bring the drinks? Also- do they serve beer, wine and mixed drinks or do they offer frozen drinks like margaritas as well?

Congrats! I believe the wedding packages are the same no matter what hotel you stay at. The one exception seems to be the Chocolate Sensation package. Here are the package prices that Claudia emailed to me:

Blueberry DreamUS$ 1,520.00

Mint BreezeUS$ 2,060.00

Strawberry PassionUS$ 3,080.00

Tangerine SunsetUS$ 7,150.00

Chocolate Sensation Beach, Caribe, Colonial & TropicalUS$ 7,500.00

Chocolate Sensation PalaceUS$ 9,550.00

Coconut Paradisefree

I believe the wedding coordinators are the same no matter which resort you stay at as well.
