So your options for a reception location are: Beach, Beach Grill(restaurant), Banquet Room

 

Coral Beach Grill at the Palace (Open-air restaurant) only open for lunch & breakfast which is why you can have your reception there overlooking the ocean (each section has their own beach grill that you can also have your reception in [Mariachi (Colonial), Rachero Grande (Caribe), Palmera (Tropical), Marina Beach Snack Bar (Beach)]

Banquet rooms look just like a normal banquet room with no windows, there is no fee to move your reception from a banquet room to one of the beach grills

Does anyone have the 2009 wedding package information? I have not been able to find it on-line and have not gotten a response to my email requesting it.

I could be wrong, but I think I read somewhere on the unofficial barcelo maya website that they have converted the beach grill into an a la carte restaurant in the evenings. It might not be an available option for a reception in the evenings anymore. Again, I'm not sure about this, but I recall hearing or reading about it.
