1. A 3-day waiting period after we applied for our marriage license before we could get married.
2. After the 3-day waiting period, we got married and then it was about 3 weeks until we got our marriage certificate.

If this situation applies to you, then you will want to get married in the US sometime in June.

Hi Camie,

I asked Rosy about this and she said since we are doing the symbolic ceremony, all we need are our ID's! Thanks for the heads-up though...that could have been a big mess!!!

Unless their requirements have changed within the last two months, its just the opposite. Our symbolic wedding was April 2nd and we had to present a certified copy of our legal marriage certificate at the appointment with our WC. We were never asked for our IDs.

Its a key card.... and something I had never seen before is that you have to enter your card into a slot once your inside the room for the lights to work.

You arrive the same day as most of our guests. We arrive on July 5th - leave the 16th. I originally thought we would be by ourselves the first few days and have guests there till we left. We found out last week some will be arriving the same day as us but all our guests will leave monday after the wedding giving us a few days at the end.

Nibsmom, We have not heard anything from Kelena either. My TA is calling her contact today to see what is up. Have you heard any bride actually say they had her as the WC?

Eureka, I am surprised they have already assigned some of your stuff. I want the Bugumbilia Gazebo and they will not confirm it...... just put in a request for it. What have you heard about the Tucan being cooler?
I would contact your county clerk to find out about waiting time. Every state and potentially every county is different.
For Nevada and California, its the same day. We got legally married at the courthouse and were able to apply for the license, have the ceremony performed, and walk out the door with a certified copy all within an hour. A law had also been recently passed that included on the certificate was my legal name change. Nothing further to do aside present the certificate to Social Security and DMV.

Yeah, I'm torn on this too. I've read mixed reviews about the make up, and I have sensitive and I break out really bad when I'm stressed, so I'm up in the air as of what to do.

I think I might just go down to Sephora and see what they recommend for make up. I probably will get a few things to bring down with me. That way, if I decide to get my make up done at the MP and it turns out awful, I'll have some kind of a back up.

I just don't really wear make up so maybe my sister will put it on for me!! LOL.

Good Idea. Where are you getting your coil bracelets? I bought waterproof key/money holders for our guests but they don't have a good way of attaching to anything.

I'm going to order them from oriental trading - it's like 2.99 for a dozen. Search for coil keychains!

So, it's taken me forever to post since I've returned but I wanted to drop in and say Hi MP brides. I'm working on my review which I hope to have up this weekend. But, if you are interested in seeing some pics you can check out the link in my siggy. I think the photographer did a great job (and he wasn't David Pena).

A couple of notes ~ Nancy Ruiz is no longer at MP, I didn't find this out until I got there. I had a brand new person named Margharita Jiminez.

The bugambilia was a great gazebo, but it is windy. It keeps everyone cool but my hair is in my eyes in quite a few pics, I definitely recommend pulling any long bangs back.

I had my hair and makeup done at the resort. I think they did a great job, my BMs also had their hair styled and everyone was really happy with the results.

I highly recommend getting married at a gazebo that isn't right next to your room or getting ready somewhere else. The horse and carriage picked me up pretty much right next to the gazebo so a lot of people saw me getting on it, fortunately DH's back was turned.

I have pics of most of the gazebos if anyone wants to see something specific I can try to accommodate. (Obviously, Bug is the one in my wedding pics.)

Now that I'm back, let me know how I can help!

Hey DrTracy!

I can't wait to see your review and look at your pictures!! It sounds like you had a great time!

And - exciting news - after much emailing, I FINALLY got my WC changed to Claudia. She responds to email very quickly and I've already gotten three emails from her!
