No problemo! I'm sure I'll take a lot of pics and I'll probably stalk a wedding or two to get some of all the gazebos. My WC is Nancy and she has been great. Like some others have said, early out the communication can be a bit slow (a few days for an email reply) but now that we are so close she's getting back to me within 24 hours. Woot!

I'm going to say, I don't know on this. I've heard that some girls have just said "35" then asked them to pull up a chair with no problems but that's 1 chair. You do have to give a guest list to your WC so I'm not sure how you'll deal with that. I will have exactly 35 people (whew ~ well assuming the flu doesn't scare anyone away) but I can try to scope out other weddings while we are there and give you a more definitive answer if no one else can.

There was no contract for the add ons, only the actual wedding ceremony package (which we chose a free one). It clearly states on the website that prices are subject to change (with regard to the optional services)without notice so I didn't say a word because I knew that I didn't have a leg to stand on.
I am very happy with our photos. We had a number of them that are awesome. I took the album to work to show the girls and they all had a different favorite. I can't even decide on a favorite because there are som many tht turned out to be frame-worthy. I had some mixed feelings going in because photos were so important to me (not so much DH so he fought me on spending anything on them) and I knew that our budget was so limited that we couldn't afford the cost of the photographer plus their accomodations even for one night. After seeing the final products, I wouldn't hestiate to do it the same way again.
The forum definately exposes us to the refined and as a result we have higher expectations than if we never found this sanctuary. Its crazy how skewed our perception can become. I can see our photos meeting par to a lot of those shared on the forum, but in real life, they far exceed any of my friends' wedding photos. Maybe its because we live in a small town with limited resources, but half of the people that have seen them in person have actually remarked that they look like something out of a magazine.

I get so caught up on reading the responses that I forget to post my questions:) I am getting married 7/31/09 and just now received paperwork about the cost of items. It looks like my WC is Lily Sanchez I hope she is good!!! Does anyone know why they changed the packages? I am not sure which ones I should be looking at. I have an email in to Lily so hopefully she will get back with me soon.

I have read a few replys and I see that people know specifically which Gazebo they are getting married in. Did you find this out by asking your WC? I have been laid back about my wedding, but know I am getting REALLY nervous!!!

Dang! I just looked at my contract and I don't get a WC until 30 days out! WAH!

 

Leanna, I contacted the resort to request a specific gazebo. I would just tell your WC which one you want!

CAMIE- I was the one who had people commenting on changing location due to all the DRAMA in Mexico. And now the newest-Swine Flu.

 

I was and still am a little frustrated so I can totally understand what you must be going through. I hope it all works out for you. You have been planning this for a long time and you only can hope for the very best. I wish you lots of luck! Can't wait for your review!

Hi Ladies!

 

I think we are finally over the SFP2009 (swine flu pandemic 2009) hump with our guests at this point. We only had one couple who was reconsidering and I think they are a for sure go at this time. We've got 3 guests at the resort already and they state that no one is walking around with Michael Jackson/SARS masks (LOL).

 

We leave tomorrow morning and will arrive around 11:30am. I'll report back with pictures upon our return.

BTW, Are any of you other Brides taking you laptops? One of my registries, Honeymoonwishes.com, has a blog. I was thinking about blogging and reporting in here while I am at MP. We are going for 11 days and I am thinking I would start having withdrawals if I don't!

 

Also, Are any of you registering at Honeymoonwishes.com? Palace resorts actually allows you to put their logo on the page through the wedding information pages.

I'm planning on bringing my laptop with us when we go to Mexico, in case I need to do any financial stuff and to check email and stuff. I probably won't blog or anything like that - I'm really bad about that kind of stuff. We can also spy on our dog via doggie cam at the doggie hotel he'll be at...so I know we'll be doing that a lot. We are already anticipating missing our little poochie!

 

Yes, we are registered at honeymoonwishes.com, but thus far it's been a bust. No one has used it - only our other two traditional registries. We've had it up since like January!!
