Moon Palace 2008 & 2009 Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Hey Dana,

I hope the babies don't count. I'm actually not even sure of their exact ages, I have to ask Matt. They live in Texas and I've only met them once! We're running into this problem because the babies parents already own a timeshare down in Mexico, so they want to stay there. Understandable, and was totally fine, until other family members decided they were going to stay there as well!!!

Is it true that the daypasses only work for an hour before and after the wedding? Can they not buy daypasses to come hang out the day before the wedding? What if I have little events going on?

*sigh* I was really hoping no one would go this route!!!

Nina-

The daypass thing is so confusing! I mean how would they know that your guest is here for the wedding and not just to enjoy the resort- do they have a special wedding daypass? I think it's a little ridiculous since we have to pay for people at the cocktail hour/reception and then there are passes on top of that and you can't even be there the whole day? There must be some way around that...

I am with you! We have lost a few people from our list due to the economy situation (we are still waiting for our deadline in a couple weeks for final count) but the 20% could hurt us. I think we are currently looking at about 12 plus coming in from one of our friends house on Isla. I know one family was thinking of staying the night but my TA found out there was a two night minimum at Moon Palace.

I guess I will be sending out some emails this afternoon.

And some of them are cheaper.....something worth checking into at least.
I will have my TA check into that. Good suggestion! I wonder if they have the same two night minimum stay policy?!?!

I figured the two night thing was because of the wedding contract...I would figure they'd take any business! So weird.

The economy stuff is taking a hit on our wedding too. Definitely some people changing their minds or RSVPing no when we didn't expect it. It's tough - I totally understand, but I'm not even sure we are going to make 10 rooms now. A lot of the people who are coming have decided to triple/quad it up. The nights dictated on the contracts are per room right? Not per person? I wouldn't think so...that would just be too nice!!

If your rates are like mine, there isn't much difference in per person price if 2 or more are in the room. If you need to make your minimum, you may consider paying the difference to split them up if there is four in the room.

How far in advance were you able to make these requests- did you do it through your onsite WC or one of the Miami ladies?

Hola,

I was in constant communication with my onsite WC - She prompted me for my menu weeks in advance.

I made my request via email and all worked out perfectly!

Wishing you the best of luck

Hello,

Our Cocktail Reception & Private Dinner menu were amazing!

I added the coffee & tea option - I just placed the extras items I wanted in my email (as I posted) and it was all done for me.

I don't actually know if there was an additional cost for this - I don't think that there was as we were spending so much to begin with. If it was I didn't notice.

All the extra's are worth every penny.

Wishing you all the best
Laura
