My rates are below $300/night each (for a 2-person room) but singles are of course more, I think mine are just over $300. One thing we've done is 'match up' people that want to come solo. We know everyone so we can match personalities. After all, it's just a place to sleep, I'd totally share a room to save a few hundred bucks.

Thanks for the great photographer ideas. I think we will find someone and go off-site so we don't have to worry about MPs policies. I told my FI about doing a TTD and showed him some pictures. He LOVES the idea and now he can't wait. He told me if I ruined my dress we'd have enough time to get a new one before the AHR and no one would ever know. :) woot.gif

If your photographer is licensed to do business in Mexico, they can't come on grounds via a day pass. Or at least thats what Claudia at the MP informed us of when we were considering it. The loop hole in the case of a Mexican photographer is to pay for a full nights stay and have them there as your "guest".

Also, for TTD - we hired Claudia Rodriguez and we are going off the resort to do ours - we actually are waiting until the next week to do ours when we'll be on our honeymoon at a different resort.

Now I feel like we're getting the shaft. We booked directly through the resort and it was a little over $3,000 for 7 nights.... and that was with an early booking discount that shaved off $30 a night! We're paying $438/night for a double. I can accept that part of that is due to it falling within 'prime' season, but holy hell!

I didn't know that...I thought i'd get away with doing the day pass thing! but as long as we will get away with it after them staying in the hotel for the night...then i'm happy doing that! hee hee for all a nights stay is! We had originally been looking at elizabeth medina, but i think she would have needed more than one night as she isn't based in cancun..but the photographer we have went with is based local, so i'm pretty sure we'll get away with just the one night.

Thanks for the heads up lady! I wasn't going to mention it to anyone at mp...like someone else had said on here, i decided it would be easier to ask for forgiven, than permission! cheesy.gif

You will need to provide a credit card upon check-in (I had mine blocked so that no charges would go through until I approved - as items will be charged during your stay - so contact your credit card company)

Flowers - so worth going with MP florist - fresh & beautiful! You will need to watch bringing 'plants-flowers' into the country as there are laws on that.

We purchased the Deluxe Wedding Package - totally worth it! Consider what you are going to add as most additions end up totalling the package price.

Ours included photography - but we hired two destination wedding photographers (wicked). Seeing as photog was in our package we used this for a Welcome Dinner & had a photographer join us.

As well, we also paid the extra for a private wedding reception - so we used the dinner in the package as the welcome dinner.

Consider that you are going away & people are joining you - splurge a little (nothing like joining a destination wedding with no flare) believe me there is no comparison.

Wishing you all the best!
Thanks HaleGrifa!! Thats nice having everything due at check out. Having that extra time to save is awesome! Sounds like the flowers are worth the price tag. We are also planning on having a private wedding reception and using the dinner in the package as a welcome dinner. Thanks for all the info and advice!smile03.gif

hello ladies,

My wedding is scheduled for july 25,2009 at MP; I'm so excited and was able to get most of my ideas for my save the dates (board passing) and my invitations (messages in a bottle) from this forum. Thank you ladies for ALL of your help.
