oh Ann I am so sorry to hear she is having a rough time, but I know Gwen will work through it like a champ.

Didn't Tammy meet Leia in the hospital too...weird!

Just catching up on our little girl! ;-) I'm sure it's a little scary to not have everything all picture perfect right now. But I have no doubt Gwen will do just fine and keep on progressing. It seems somewhat "normal" to think that she might have a couple rough days being such a little thing. Hopefully everything willl bounce back soon so you and Paul can relax a little again.

HUGE hugs to both of you!!!

Ann.. I can't believe how cute she is. Sorry to hear about her little setback but you know we're all thinking good thoughts about you and your family. She's going to get well and before you know it, she'll be at home with you and Paul! She's such a fighter and so strong for being so little.

Keep the photos coming. We love seeing her!

We got it at Target - Paul picked it out. If you want me to go get you one - PLEASE just let me know, I'd be happy to make a Target run!

She did! Isn't that crazy? I find it funny that she is one of our top 3 (if not the top!) favorite nurses before we ever found out she was on here, and was married at Caletas.

She is so precious and cute I absolutely adore her!!! She's such a trooper Ann, like I said before she must take after her Mom. Can't believe she didn't cry with all the blood work and catheter process. That's seriously one tough cookie! She will be in my thoughts and prayers. love ya Ann!

Thanks for all of the positive thoughts, girls! She actually doesn't even have her nasal canula (sp?) anymore today - that's the one where she was getting oxygen. So she's doing a little better! She's up to 5lbs 4oz, but lost about 10 grams the other day. We need to pork her up some!

She almost cried today ... but it was after she farted super loud, so I think it scared her. How funny is that? She farts soooo loud - like any grown man would be proud of them. It's insane! I can't help but laugh hysterically when she does it - all of the nurses look over, like "Paul, how rude!" But she has a reputation now - no one will stand at the bottom of her bed when changing her ... did I ever share the explosive poo story?

Well, I'm off to another feeding (I really feel like a milk factory!), but here's the short version ...

I was changing Gwen's diaper - she was still under the blue lights for jaundice. Because she still had the light on, so I was changing her through the 2 holes in the side of the enclosed bed. Also the blue light makes pee appear orange, and poo look blood red (scarey at first!).

So I had the old diaper off, new diaper under her bum, and I was lifting her legs up wiping her bottom (she had pooed a little in her diaper). Well, all of the sudden this loud fart noise comes out of my little less-than-5lb baby girl, and poo shoots all over the place. Like we needed to change her bedding, wipe off the entire enclosure, I had to wipe off my hands and arm, and pretty much everything else in sight. Had the bed cover been open, who knows how far the poo would have gone. CRAZY! And keep in mind I had just asked why the poo in her diaper looked red - I was a bit nervous. Not seconds after the nurse explained it was just the blue light - out came a seemingly blood red mess of poo. Thank goodness I had just cleared that up, or I may have screamed! Instead, I could not stop laughing.

She's done this a few times now, so everyone knows not to stand within "firing range" of her, especially if she has any sign of poo when we change her. It's like she gives us a warning in her diaper - then saves the rest for when we lift up her bum so she can gain maximum distance!

smile120.gif Omg!!!! Lol!!!!

I totally had to take a moment and read this! That is hilarious Ann!!! I can only imagine how shocking it must have been considering she's so tiny! Hopefully the "wait and poo on the diaper changer" pattern will change eventually! lol! You should know now that I'm not babysitting 'til she decides to change her poopy ways! ;-) lol!
