Dreams Cancun - Questions for those married here!

Recommended Posts

Ashley, what ended up happening with this?

I have read basically through every Dreams Cancun thread and haven't come across this issue. They told me it was because there was a wedding after mine? But what I don't get is that if we decided to keep the cocktail hour then we could have it? So how does that seem fair? Meg, are you opting out of the cocktail hour?

Meg,

My travel agent got it taken care of. Anything that I have been told I can't do, I talk to Lauren and she magically makes it happen. I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend using her. The planning process isn't really part of their job but they build relationships with the resorts and the coordinators so it can be very useful.

Any suggestions...We bought an amplifier with speaker/microphone to bring with us.  It is REALLY loud.  But i'm so torn as to whether or not it will give that bass sound that makes you want to dance.  So i really dont know if should break down and pay for the resorts sounds system or just go with what we have.  One girl said an amp/speaker just worked fine, but i'm now second guessing myself.  Any thoughts.

that was me and the sound system worked out great . We were told that it would cost us 100.00 for the plug in to their electrical with their cord , they didnt charge us .

No question in our minds that was the right chose , why on earth would you pay there amount when you already have it , makes no sense , save your money and put it to better use .

Good Im glad to hear that , it will be just fine , as for an extension cord when you meet with the wedding planner ...They will tell you 100.00 for hook up but they will not charge you , they will hook it up. We had 2 songs lists one for the ceremony, one for the reception so there was no confession  We had our daughter reception on Himitus Beach and we set up the mic, amp in between the bar and the Asian restaurant .....It worked great ....Tell the wedding planner that you are requesting a congo line and the bartenders (2) will come out , set up some chairs , stand on them ,pick a song as a que and they will our shooters down the throats of your guest , sure gets the party going .

Also I might add if you are as picky as I was lol I wrote out a 4 page step by step of how I wanted every item set up for the reception .

There was not one thing out of place as long as you are direct and use simple language .

It is truly the best , most beautiful place on earth to say your I DO'S to the love of your live .

Any things else that you are needing to know you can email me [email protected] or send a request through destination wedding

Happy planning

This is what our daughter had posted on Trip Advisor about Dreams Cancun

We stayed here to have our wedding for a week at the end of November with 40 of our closest friends and family. I cannot believe how amazing everything really was. As soon as we arrived we were upgraded to a suite on the 16th floor and had a honeymoon sign with a flower arrangement in our suite. The staff treated us and our guests so special and we were always greeted with a smile. We loved sea side grill and himitsu, and world cafe always had something good to eat. The rooms were always cleaned very well and at the right time of day. Beach service and Room service was a plus, all the guys loved to order food and drinks after our late nights. The location was the best we have visited, we were able to walk to the clubs and shopping. The wedding co-odinator was amazing, everything was perfect and exactly what I imagined for the past year of planning. The photographer at the resort captured every perfect moment and we are so happy to have these amazing photos. The reception was held on himitsu beach and the service and food was the best of the whole trip, we had a waiter at our side to bring our plates to our table and seat us. The whole trip was magical and we have memories that we will always remember. We will deffinetley return to dreams again.

Room Tip: upgrade to the tower and you get amazing views and free wifi, also tip the staff (they deserve it) a...
