Dreams Cancun - Questions for those married here!

Recommended Posts

Okay ladies! I need your help because I'm fixing to pull my hair out. My ceremony is set to start at 3:30 and they have my reception scheduled to start at 4:30 (I opted out for the cocktail hour) whenever I asked my coordinator to push my reception back to 5 to where I have a full hour in between the two for pictures she said that wasn't possible? I'm pissed because if I did have the cocktail hour I could have the reception pushed back to 5 because that would give the full "cocktail hour." Any advice on what to do? Has anyone that has gotten married before run into this issue? Or did you have a full hour even though you swapped the cocktail hour for 10 people comped for dinner?

A special day like your wedding day deserves be captured with its own essence, you are who play your own movie, it will be cheesy only if you want, as videographers we cannot control your emotions, we just catch the moments and the feelings and we project them in the way you ask.

We're Gallardo Films, passionates and experienced wedding cinematographers at Mayan Riviera, we've had wonderful opportunities of making movies in many different hotels, unfortunately we haven't made one at the Dreams Cancun but we have one at Dreams Riviera Maya so we'd like you to watch it. Hope you like it!

Have a good planning!

Ashley, have you read many of the reviews on here of the resort? Most of the brides have seemed to indicate that once there, the coordinators were really accommodating and even gave them extras. Did they give you any reason? Obviously, wait and see isn't a good answer, but I think they will accommodate you. Maybe email the general coordinator email?

I have read basically through every Dreams Cancun thread and haven't come across this issue. They told me it was because there was a wedding after mine? But what I don't get is that if we decided to keep the cocktail hour then we could have it? So how does that seem fair? Meg, are you opting out of the cocktail hour?

No, I'm gonna keep it, at least for now. Idk, it seems like many brides trade that, but I am not planning to at this point. I still don't get why it matters if there's another wedding. Whether your reception starts at 5 or 530 doesn't change the fact that your reception location and the location for the other ceremony will have to be different. It doesn't make sense.? If you kept the cocktail hour and traded at the last minute, I wonder what would happen? How much have you talked with your WC?

  • 1 month later...

Our daughter was married last Nov , her wedding was at 3:30 we purchased the Ultimate Pkg and we to did not have the cocktail hour but received 10 extra dinners.

We originally asked for the dinner to start at 5 and then we changed our minds last mint to 6 and was not a problem but it was on a Wed so mid week not a weekend as they might just be totally booked .

I hope this helps
