Alina - I wrote my own ceremony and asked that whomever is performing read it before... they did a fantastic job !

 

He didnt make any mistakes and added some "words of wisdom" here and there. We were not so worried about being extremely formal so it worked out great!

Hello ladies, I am very new to this site I am trying to get started with the whole planning process. My fiancé and I got engaged about 3 months ago. I'm soo excited to set the date we are thinking May of 2014. I have read several forums on here and post. They have been extremely helpful so far I fell in love with Dreams Cancun. The hardest thing is trying to get price quotes for travel and stay because it is so far out. Has anyone having the same issue?? I am trying to get a guestamation on how much the stay and flight will be for my guest. I will have about 30 people attending. Has anyone had a May wedding and if so how was weather rates and overall experience. Please help!

Marilili- did dreams decorate the chairs for your day or did you bring it with you?

Mrsmascarenas you can get the prices through the website for the dreams. It has all the packages with prices and all the extras! One thing i found is that th are always things that are extras so make sure when you add costs that you add in everything extra that you want with the tax! Happy planning! It is a great experience working with the ladies at the resort and they usually answer within a week! You can always call too if you really want to talk to somone ! I am leaving tomorrow (my wedding is Saturday) when i return i will post reviews and pictures for you all!

I brought them with me, but they charge you per chair if you do.  However, I paid a wedding planner to come in and place the sashes so I didn't have to pay per chair and she decorated the gazebo and all for me for a price cheaper than the dreams would have charged.  But I also had the free wedding because I did not havemy reception at the dreams.

Hey Ladies,

 

For those of you who already married at the Dreams Resort... was a 3 hour reception long enough? Or did you purchase an additional hour to make it a 4 hour reception?

 

I have a small guest cound of 24 people

Hi Jencakes21! We purchased an additional hour for a 4-hour reception. We had a small group of 15 people, but our group likes to dance...so even at 4 hours, it felt like it ended too soon   We also had the DJ, and they keep the energy going, so that is probably a contributing factor, as well. Afterwards, a group of us changed & hung out for the rest of the night because we were having so much fun. Now, my SIL had a bit of a smaller group (11 ppl) at her wedding & used an iPod & did the 3-hours. She seemed fine with that. Why don't you ask the resort if you can decide that evening whether you want to extend...based on how the energy of the party is going?

Thank you Michellegirl! Did you also have the mariachi trio? For your reception dinner how to you determine when you would and your husband would have your first dance, bouquet toss, cake cutting etc. Did you also have a cocktail hour?
