His work looks very good! Well ladies I leave in the morning for Cancun so when I return I will give a full honest review. I'm a very simple person to please but can be picky when it comes to certain things. Isn't every women! I promise a full review for everyone.  It looks like it's going to be in the 80's all week so that's a start.  I never got all my questions answered and just found out 1 day ago our flight changed at the last minute so we will be split up from my brother and nieces. evil.gif Very nervous about it working out the way I planned.

Congratulations ladies! Hope you have a wonderful time and looking forward to reading reviews!

Have any brides done (or are you doing) the legal ceremony? If so, how does the process work with the blood testing? How does the legal ceremony differ from the symbolic? Thanks!

Hi-

You definitely do not need a dance floor for the Terrace!! It is perfect for dancing and a great way to save some money!!  We had the DJ (Dreams vendor) and he was amazing!! His name was Rodrigo.  I spoke with him a few times before we went down there.  He sent a sheet to be filled out (1st dance song, father/daughter song, etc.) before we arrived.  And he met us during our meeting with Claudia.  I would highly recommend using him.  We are dancing people and wanted to party and he made all that happen.  AMAZING!!!  Well worth the money!!

My ceremony was originally at 4, but since the weather was so crazy when we were there, Claudia had us move it up to 3:30.  The whole thing was about 35-45 minutes the symbolic).  After wards we did some group shots and then Scott and I went off for our own pictures.  The cocktail hour still started at 5pm.  But, I believe that they served drinks before that and everything was set up, they just brought the food out at about 5ish.  Scott and I were done with pictures and were able to make the last 15-20 mins of the cocktail hour.  We had the Mexican trio play for the second half, so we were able to enjoy them too.  We then flowed right into dinner/dancing.  I thought it was perfect timing and I don't think my guests were worried about standing around with nothing to do.

Hope this helps.  Also, I have been trying to work on my review, but I am back to work with crazy hours.  If anyone has any questions, please email me, [email protected].  That is the best way to get a hold of me and I would be more than willing to let you know my experience or help out!!

Thanks for the responses to my last post. I have been reading through this forum and it definitely eases some of my worries that I previously had about going forward with this resort.

Does anyone know whether a dance floor is needed on the terrace for the reception? Also what did everyone do for music during the reception? How were the DJ services for those who purchased them? What did those of you do for music that did not have a DJ? Any helpful hints on timing of the ceremony, cocktail, and dinner and including time for pictures? Mine are currently scheduled back to back (3, 4 and 5 p.m.) I want to be sure to have enough time for pictures and I really do not want to do pictures before hand. Just not sure where pictures would fit in! If any previous brides could comment on this that would be great and very helpful!

Good luck to all of the brides getting married over this next week! I am looking forward to hearing your opinions and reviews on everything!

Thanks so much ladies!

Hi Ladies -

I just got back from Cancun late last night and am back at work this morning.  I took a ton of notes while I was at Dreams, so I will have a lot to write up in a review.  But for now, know that even though there were some pretty big glitches in my wedding day, that everyone had an absolute blast.

I saw A LOT of weddings while I was at Dreams (most days were either 2 or 3 weddings).  So please let me know if you have any questions, because I saw a lot of different setups.  Claudia said that November & December are their busiest wedding months.  But they are slower months for tourists, so the resort isn't all that crowded - which is nice.

My photographer (who traveled with us and returned Tuesday night) sent a couple of teaser pics last night as a welcome home gift:

One thing I just thought of - I got my wedding video from Claudia before I left (they take 3 business days to edit, and will mail it to you if you have already left the resort).  If anyone knows of a good way to upload a 30-minute video online, I would be willing to share so you all can see what the video that is included in the Ultimate Package ends up looking like.

Thanks for answering all of my questions, it definitely helps! I think I am going to go ahead and use the DJ and also switch my ceremony time to allow more time for pictures. I was mainly worried about guests standing around waiting (while we take pictures), but it seems like they are willing to accomodate and serve drinks before then, which is good to hear!

May I also ask how your experience was with the symbolic ceremony? We are still debating between the symbolic and the legal. Thanks!
