However, to everyone, please keep a cool and level head about this. This is a stressful time, and in my opinion, there is no need....no sense...in worring about the unknown. Lets deal with what we know and make no assumptions. Take things day by day, and know that your fellow brides are here to support you. Look at the numbers. I dont know how many of you watch cnn or any of the other news channels, but fromt what i gather, this swine flu is not as dangerous and deadly as the regular flu. All countries world wide are taking substantial steps toward getting this resolved. If anyone needs someone to talk to, turn to your fellow brides. We are all here for eachother....some more than others of course....but we can understand, sympathize, and offer any input if you need it.

With all that said, on a similar topic, everyone on this site has a lot of stress to a certain extent. At least those of us with upcoming weddings. Please, please, please....everyone watch your tone with your comrades. Some people say things they dont mean, others just use a poor choice of words. If that is the case and you notice it, be polite and professional about it. Making someone feel like crap because they used poor judgement in wording is counter productive. Rather, if you have something mean to say, say it in a private message or bite your tongue. Stress creates poor judgement, and stress can be cured by support. So lets all be friendly and kind with eachother, though, sometimes we may not want to :)

Just curious if anyone knows how a company can tell their employees that they are not allowed to travel to Mexico. I can understand the military ordering their soldiers to stay in the U.S., but Id tell my company to pound sand if they ordered me to stay in the States. Short of the US closing the border to Mexico, everyone has the freedom to go where they please. What happens if the employee breaks that rule? Is there any way for a company to find out whether their employee went to Mexico?? ...Just a thought.

Hi ladies,

I just wanted to post a quick note to say that we are home safe and sound after a wonderful two weeks in Mexico. We were at Dreams from April 12th until the 18th and our wedding was held on the 16th. I will be posting a more detailed review, but in the meantime just wanted to say that we are sooo pleased with how things turned out for the wedding, it was an incredible day!! I did a lot of worrying, but I had no reason to worry! Cecilia was amazing, the flowers were absolutely beautiful, my hair turned out wonderful, they got all of the music right, it was all better than I ever could have imagined! We hired Citlalli from Claudia Rodriguez's photography team, we are still waiting to get our pics back but she was incredible, so easy to deal with!

In terms of the swine flu, we got quite the scare when some family members told us about it, we were still in Mexico at the Excellence Riviera Cancun for our honeymoon when we first found out. Luckily, nobody in our group of 29 was affected, two of them did get sick and got checked out, but it was not the swine virus. I was not allowed to go back to work until seven days after we returned, tomorrow will be my first day back, I had just worked from home, definitely an odd feeling!

One word of advice for the trip in general, I ended up getting a heat rash on my arms, and I hadn`t even though about bringing anything with me for a rash, luckily my aunt brought some cortisone cream with her and that really helped. That is the first time I have ever broken into a bad rash like that, so if you have sensitive skin, you may want to consider taking something with you just in case. Two of my aunts also had a bit of a heat rash.

Also, on a final note, I would definitely recommend getting a massage on the morning of the wedding. I did and it made me feel so much more relaxed, definitely helped with the pre-wedding nerves!

If anyone has any questions, just let me know!

They dont do anything for you but take your money and provide you with table linens. Everything else you have to do, they hand you over a list of vendors and you have to contact them yourself. I have had 6 people cancel out on not attending, my brother wont be attending because of our argument and that means no ring bearer for him as his son was my ring bearer. One of my groomsmen is paranoid so he is refusing to go, Im soo upset.

I will just play it by ear, my MOH is so supportive, she is like Im going to be there regardless of what is going on to support you.

Im trying to stay positive and just hope that this all goes away by the time we leave on May 11
I know it seems scary but I think it will be OK, just be sure and pack plenty of hand sanitizer! I'm sorry people are backing out at the last minute. I'm sure you will still have a wonderful time and a beautiful wedding. Good luck and let us all know what happened when you get back home! smile03.gifsmile03.gif

we're not because we have guests arriving almost every day of the week, but since most are arriving the same day as us we are going to gather in one of the bars for our semi-official welcome drinks. for the rehearsal, we will attempt to go to dinner with ONLY the people who are IN the wedding. i don't see any reason to have (or pay for) a second private dinner for all the same people. it would be like wedding part deux, ya know? besides, it seems silly to me to keep paying for dinners when it's an all-inclusive! to each their own tho ... do what you feel is right!
