Hi girls...

 

I have a very important question... are you all taking all your cash down there to pay vendors, photographer, dj, hotel, etc.. Im scared to take cash. How can I work this out?

Yes, we used a docking station instead. We had about 25 people and I thought it seemed silly to have a DJ and we didn't want to pay for the sound system when we could buy a docking station and have it forever. It worked great, I setup playlists for each part of the wedding and our friends helped out with pausing it during speeches or switching the playlists during the ceremony, etc...

We took travelers checks, I didn't want to take a lot of cash either. I also didn't want to use my debit card to pay the balance of the wedding because our daily limit is low and it would have been a pain in the butt!

We are doing the symbolic ceremony.....I asked Claudia for a copy but haven't heard back yet?? It is so funny that the most important part of the day I have NO CLUE? HAHA

Jill, was your ipod docking loud enough to entertain the party? I am kinda thinking to take my iphone with me, yet not sure if there's any docking system out there plays with it, need a little research on that.

Is there any reason why you girls not willing to use credit card to pay the balance I don't wanna carry any cash or debit card with me but credit card.

I'd like to see the Symbolic Ceremony Script as well. I do think it may have been posted on this thread though..I will go back and look.

I am so nervous that our guests (Particularly our Moms) will find out it wasn't the legal cermony and that we were already married before we got to Mexico..LOL

FI's mom already was saying to us..Make sure you get your Marriage Certificate before you leave and Etc....All I kept thinking was thank god she is leaving before us..LOL I'll tell her we picked it up on the last day! hahahaha

But I feel horrible for Lying!!

I made the plans with my officiant here, just this week, and everytime I talk to someone I want to say oh, I booked my Officiant for our legal ceremony..LOL bUt I stop myself.

 

I am asking my Old Roomate to read the Sand Ceremony. She is my oldest friend too (Since brith) and I feel horrible that she is not in my Wedding party..Especially after I found out she had an Equal part in PLanning/paying for my shower. I didn't want to ask anyone who didn't book :-( Had I gotten married here, she would have been in it.

I am getting her a special gift and asking her to read either the sand ceremony (If we do it) or I will create a reading for her to read at some point in the ceremony.

Anyway..Off the subject,,sorry...I plan to ask her to read, But I also want to know when that comes into play.

Is it after the rings ? (I think I have heard that)

Can a past Dreams Cancun Bride give us a Play by Play?? LOL

hi kate, i started out working with Gaby and I changed my dates many, many times! she said it was fine. their contract is not set in stone- if you have things you want to change later, its ok. i have changed things like food and adding/deleting things from my contract countless times over the last 6 months already. just keep in mind that may is popular and you should try to figure out what date is the best for you soon.

the bose portable docking station is great. the sound quality is really good--loud and clear. we have family that use theirs for all their parties (huge outdoor bbqs even, and it's always plenty loud enough). it comes with a remote for volume and skipping songs (wish there was a screen on the remote to move between playlists or see the song list tho ... that would make it GREAT). really the only issue is you can't use a mic.

FI has an iphone and it is really not made for use with a docking system (at least definitely not the bose) ... it will play, but the volume is very low no matter how loud you turn it up on the phone or the dock.

So I decided to surprise my hubby to be with a private dinner for two a coupel days after we get married. I am having it set up in the hut by the lighthouse and just got the menus the other day. If anyone wants to see them, let me know.
