Im planning on doing a sand ceremony myself and Im using three different colors. Im incorporating the colors of my wedding into the ceremony. Im also having my mother in law and mother and our twins pour sand as well.

There are a bunch of different vases on ebay you can get, just make sure you buy one that has a top for transportation purposes

this is what claudia sent me for the sand ceremony, which she said was no problem to incorporate, even with a civil ceremony (i was afraid i wouldn't be able to add anything). i would think most use two colors of sand. and i guess it can be done sort of like a unity candle, where your mothers or parents first fill (or bring up) the two separate containers, and then the two of you fill the larger, center container.

_________________ & _______________, you have just sealed your relationship by the giving and receiving of rings, and this covenant is a relationship pledge between two people who agree that they will commit themselves to one another throughout their lives. The most beautiful example of this partnership is the marriage relationship. You have committed here today to share the rest of your lives with each other. Today, this relationship is symbolized through the pouring of these two individual containers of sand one, representing you, ______________ and all that you were, all that you are, and all that you will ever be, and the other representing you, _________________ and all that you were and all that you are, and all that you will ever be. As these two containers of sand are poured into the third container, the individual containers of sand will no longer exist, but will be joined together as one. Just as these grains of sand can never be separated and poured again into the individual containers, so will your marriage be.

I only had 2 more months left & I'm getting a bit nervous, somewhat mad...

1)I booked the dj (mannia something) last November when I started my wedding planning, i booked him for 5hrs, & I been reading the tread about Reception only being 3hrs...Now I'm a bit confuse & nervous, after 3hr they kick everyone out? or can we & the dj stay for the 5hrs? BangHead.gif

2) I am also bringing a good friend of mine that happens to be a photographer does he need an mexico photographer ID?

(I read this in another tread about ID)

3) has anyone heard from Claudia? I have been trying to get in touch w/ her....smile105.gif

They will break down the bar and leave. So, if having drinks there is important than yes five hours is too long. There is a small bar right next to the terrace but I am not sure how late he stays open.

I haven't heard anything about a mexico photographer ID. We brought our photographer from the states. If he isn't staying at your resort though he will have to go through security before he comes and takes pictures. They will give him a badge.

Claudia was out of town most of last week. So, I bet you will hear from her soon.

I meant to ask you about this one in your review thread-- how did this go? Did you change it up at all?

I did a previous search and found results from $0 to 15%-20%. I'm not sure what's customary in Mexico at an all inclusive.

Thanks!!
Haven't been married yet but I will tip the WC (probably $75-100 and maybe a small-ish gift-- not sure) and hair/make-up person (20%). I don't know about the officiant-- did anyone else do this?-- I wouldn't instinctually but maybe this is a norm I don't know about-- same goes for videographer?

The only person I tipped was the servers at our wedding. I didn't tip the WC although I would have, had it gone better. There were two of them and we tipped both.. Seriously, the officiant is there for ten minutes. It is totally up to you on whether or not to tip.

The girls at the salon are amazing and I tipped them well over what I should have. I just couldn't believe how great they were!!

This is going almost a year back and I dont know if anything changed but, we had the reception in the lobby and the small bar next to the terrace (in the lobby) stayed open until 11pm. We just had to serve ourselved since the waiter was done after he cleared the tables. It really wasn't an issue at all. they cleared the tables and we stayed and drank and danced until we could drink and dance no more wink.gif LOL

Hi Ladies!! My big day is comming up fast and I have a few questions for the past Dreams Brides

1. We hired a dj but we recently recieved the song list and i think its horrible. So I think we are going to cancell the DJ and go with an I-pod. Do you know if they have an MC we can hire? Or in your opinions would you just keep the DJ? I want to hear all your opinions!! Im stressing about this!!

2. The flowers. The pics look they came up with some of those ideas from the 80's. Were the reseptive to making a bouquet of what you wanted?

I think thats it for now. TIA feedback.gif

She seemed pretty open into making your bouquet however you want it.

As for the DJ I think it kinda just depends on what you are wanting. Are you wanting a lot of announcements and someone to keep everything going without anyone worrying about it? We had an IPOD and designated someone to make the announcements. We didn't have a mic but it was easy to get everyones attention.

Dawn said she had a DJ and wishes she hadn't paid the money for it.
