Gran Bahia Principe Akumal/Tulum/Coba - POST HERE!

Every wedding that I've photographed at the GBP has paid for the lowest option of bar (beer & margaritas) however a full bar has been served.  If it's REALLY important to you, then perhaps you don't want to risk it.  However I haven't heard from any of the most recent brides anything different.

nic, here is my photo tour of the property: http://faberphotography.com/gran-bahia-principe-tulum-resort-photo-tour/

It also has a link for the menus of the restaurants near the section about the Gran Tortuga.

Thank you so much, that's good to know.

Do you have any info on the Hibiscus pool area?

Does anyone have any information about the restaurant choices at akumal or tulum and what the menus are? Also I heard that if you book the basic bar but give the bar tender a big tip they will serve you the premium stuff. Can anyone confirm this? Our group will want hard liquor, not just beer and piña coladas. Thanks!

Hi

This link will give you examples of menus at the restaurants

http://www.bahia-gourmet.com/en/losrestaurantes.htm

On previous holidays we have tipped the staff each day and received premium label drinks however they did tell us that each bar only received a few bottles per day and when their share had gone that was it and back to local spirits.

Thank you so much for your help! Also wondering what brides are doing for hair and makeup or what has been done in the recent past? I've read about a few stylists on other forums but would like to hear recommendations on here? Seems like "the styling trio" has a good rep? I just don't want to look like a clown on my wedding day. :)

Hola !

I have a question for past brides that got married on Akumal beack..

Did you have to choose between 2 kind of chairs (for the wedding cercemony)?

Because I saw pictures of chairs with white covers and some other pictures are with cute little wood chairs... My WC told me it was around 700 $ to rent bamboo chairs... but not sure she understand what I want (lol sorry I'm french canadian, so my English is not that good..)

I'm posting a picture of the chairs I want..

400

I know I am a looking for the details... but only 5 weeks to go now !! :-)

thank you

We have 48 people confirmed and probably will have 6-10 more so we were leaning towards the Flamboyan pool for our private reception (there will be close to 10 children as well) - this one seemed the biggest however when I mentioned to Jazmin that privacy was important, she suggested the Hibiscus pool. I looked it up on the resort map and it seems very close to the restaurants so we figured we would have a lot of other resort guests walking by.

Any thoughts or pictures anyone has would be greatly appreciated.

Also, not sure if anyone is aware of this but we weren't too fond of our guests spending over $1,000 each to come to our wedding and only having pina coladas and beer served during our cocktail hour and additional 2 hours of reception - we got quoted almost $2,600 to have liquor and wine (for the additional 2 hours only) and that wasn't even top shelf quality. $25/person/hour is out of the question as my MOH is paying $45 for an open bar for 7 hours for her at home wedding. Jazmin said we could bring our own alcohol and there wouldn't be a charge for them to serve it. Sounds ridiculous that we would even consider bringing our own booze to an all inclusive but for $500 we can get premium quality stuff and doesn't break the bank if you want your guests to have more choices.

Thank you in advance!!

Anna

We got married in Nov 2012 and paid for the cheapest package and our guests recieved any drink they asked for. Unless you don't want to risk it I wouldn't pay for the upgraded package.

Tracy.

I booked Styling Trio for my wedding in Nov 2013. Adrian has been amazing so far with communcation, and I love that they do airbrush for the make-up, which I feel is perfect for the weather in Mexico.
