Another question- we're having our reception at Dolce Vita. I'm putting together my seating plan right now and I was wondering, are the tables typically set up for 8 people? Also have brides actually bothered to give wedding coordinators a formal sitting plan to arrange? Ie. so they can put table numbers in appropriate places etc.?

There are round tables and square tables.  You can basically have whatever arrangement you would like.

 

I wouldn't bother with a set seating chart unless you have a lot of people going.  Otherwise people will naturally just fill in the spots for a more casual dining experience.

I'm having my ceremony in Tulum, and Jazmin told me to have 4 songs prepared for the ceremony. 1. Bridesmaid to walk down

2. Brides to walk down

3. While papers are being signed

4. After the ceremony (unless you have the mariachi band)

I added a few to that list. 

 

I had songs for while the guests were being seated (they often mingle by the chairs for a few minutes before sitting... no clue why).

Then I had a sand ceremony so I had a song for that.

If we had extra songs on the CD, will the resort accept it and play it according to your instructions?

Hi,

My coordinator told me 3-4. One for bridesmaids coming in, one for bride coming in, one for signing of the certificate & one for the recessional. We only have one bridesmaid so we are doing (1) song for people sitting down and the groom/groomsmen heading up to the altar, (2) song for bridesmaid/bride (figure it can be the same with just raising the volume when I come down), (3) signing and (4) recessional.

Hi Joanna,

 

They have square tables of 10. I had a seating plan and the bridal party was let into Dolce Vita 30mins before guests came to put down place cards and table gifts.

Thanks for that - that is a BIG help. I just asked Eugenia this. We are going to have 21 people - including us. We ideally wanted the 2 of us to sit separately and face the other tables so I have asked if this is possible. This - I guess - would mean 2 x tables of 9-10 and then us separately. That is also good to know about the 30 min place cards/table gifts. It would only take a few mins I think as its only 20 people. Great news, Miriam

They did when I got married.  I gave them the disc accompanied with a piece of paper that said which song number went with what.
