I don't even think our legal ceremony was 20 minutes! It's rather short. The script is less than a page long.

Jazmin had a book of different bouquets (not just one). I think there were 15 or 20 to choose from. You can also bring in your own picture and they can arrange that for you (it'll probably cost extra $$).

okay random questions for those that know or have already been married there:

 

--Did they take off the "Gran" in the name? I think I asked this before but can't remember.

 

--If it rains, what are our options for an indoor wedding on Tulum side? My plans are to get married at gazebo.

 

--Do they provide towels at xel-ha? that seems silly, but I really need to know. lol

 

--So if we have our dinner at one restaurant, do you think the guests will get away with eating dinner at the other restaurants during their stay?

 

--I do not plan on buying any extra flowers to decorate with because I think the gazebo is just beautiful itself. Should I bring my own centerpieces for tables during dinner? I was going to but someone said they had little vases of flowers already set out.

Hi there...hmmm.. I'll answer the ones I know! )

I had heard that about the name, but everything we saw when we were there still had the Gran on it...not sure if that was "official" or not...

If it rains you will have it in one of the restaurants (I can't remember, maybe the Tequila?). I saw a picture of one and it was actually pretty nice because it was in front of a little waterfall thing. I emailed someone who had to have it there and she said she was happy with everything.

Yes, they provided towels at Xel-Ha, however they asked for deposits for a few things like snorkeling gear, etc. I don't THINK you had to put one down for towels but am not 100% positive.

I didn't have extra flowers. Jazmin brought the centerpiece on the table from the wedding and used it for our table at dinner, and they also had I think small lilies in little vases on the tables.

Yes, you can have someone read a poem. My husband's sister did. They were actually VERY flexible with what we asked for and had no problems working extra things into the ceremony...so I doubt they would have a problem working the sand ceremony in where you wanted it as well.

As far as the dinners, it sounds like some people have had different experiences, so I don't want to tell you one thing and have something else happen. I know for sure my guests used all of their a la cartes and our wedding dinner did not count toward that, but it sounds like that may not always be the case.

I'm going to answer what I know...

They didn't take the Gran out of their name. The souvenirs, t-shirts, commercials that they play on your tv all had Gran in them.

If it rains, the Tulum indoor location is the Tequila restaurant. Pictures are on Page 9 of this thread.

Not really sure what you mean by the dinner question, but you and your guests should get three a la carte dinners per one week stay (one is for your wedding dinner) so they should get two more. Once you get there, make sure to make dinner reservations right away. You can eat at ANY of the restaurants on the whole resort (I recommend the mediterranean & tequila & any gourmets)

There wasn't a deposit for the Xel-ha towels when we went...

I think the flexibility of the ceremony depends what type you are doing. If you are legally getting married I think they are more strict. For instance, my sand ceremony HAD to be AFTER the official ceremony. It was a little weird... but I don't think it phased anyone!

 

As for the flowers... I brought a picture of the ones I wanted and it was no extra charge. It's only extra if it's a flower they don't usually carry. Mine was roses & lillies which are two of the flowers they offer... so it was free.
