OKay, I LEGALLY got married there and it was a piece of cake!

However, with that said, neither of us have ever been married before. I think that's where the big difference is.

For us, we simply brought our four witnesses, our travel cards (you get them at the airport), our passports, and then we had to give blood.

We gave blood right at the resort and it was easy peasy.

We actually did not translate or apostile anything. We simply took the Spanish wedding certificate to the Social Security office and DMV and switch our stuff over. That's it.

I was wondering this as well. Just cause it sounds like for some people, they didn't count the wedding dinner in the restaurant as one of the guest's "a la cartes". For those that have been married there, did the wedding dinner show up as one of your guests a la cartes?

This is the one thing that FH and I are really going back and forth about. We would do the private poolside dinner but since we're getting married in October, there's a good chance of rain and we don't want to have our wedding dinner in a meeting room. FH doesn't want to use one of our guests a la cartes though.

Yes guest can stay at any of the resorts Akumal, Tulum or Coba and still come to your wedding.

I got this from the resort "Your guest can join your wedding party as lon as they stay in the resort - either Tulum, Coba or Akumal...

thanks and best regards"

Can somebody tell me how long the legal ceremony should be? We're interested in the mayan blessing ceremony and they are offering it to me at 4:30 but my legal ceremony is at 4:00...

I think it might be stressfull to have both ceremony back to back...

We were upgraded, however I did have to ask twice. They kind of ignored us the first time and gave us the regular room key and I had to push the issue a bit - nicely, but just persistant. They then upgraded us - it took about an extra 20 minutes for them to get everything ready, but no worries since we were drinking mimosas and exploring the resort (they bring your bags to the room).
