Gran Bahia Principe Akumal/Tulum/Coba - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

I am brand new to this site - it was recommended to me by my soon to be sisiter in law, who found it very helpful...

I have booked at GBP Akumal on March 30, 2012... I am still waiting to get the final booking info were we pick our resturaunt and book the poolside reception etc.

Eugenia sounded positive on the phone that none of the above would be a problem... but, anyone who has done this already - does that mean that I am not booked for sure yet?

I am also looking for a hair and makeup artist, would you recommend i use the spa or go with an outside vendor?

Flowers - since mine are not included in the package I chose (Mayan Blessing)

Cake - do you know if they will do one onsite that is nice - or should I go outside vendor??

Lastly I would love to hear from anyone that has done the Mayan Blessing - what your thoughts were etc!!

Thanks Lindsayds

Hey.....can i ask a very  silly girlie question ....we have had the Beach Hammocks confirmed for our wedding location which looks stunning but as it is on the beach....I wont be able to wear shoes with heels will I ??? I just spent £200 on shoes!! guessing I'll have to wear flipflops (and bridesmaids) and maybe put my heels on later on for meal / reception etc??!!!??????

Also, how much material is needed to decorate the hammocka?  thanks  :-)

I just did the same thing! Bought shoes for $450CAD!! and then decided to have the ceremony on the beach (Tulum)
Thats ok - I'll just put them on afterwards for pics and the reception. They won't go to waste if I have anything to do with it!

I think the resort provides the material for the hammocks location at Akumal. Its white  - and I'm not sure if they anything but that - even if you bring your own.

Hi Jemma,

The WC just answered my question about material. She usually sets up everything in white but you can let her know which colors you want so she can tell you if they have them and the price. You can also bring your own; you'll need like 14 mts.

Hi ladies,

Sorry I have not had time to read the forum or provide my review.  My wedding was at GBP Tulum gazebo on June 11, 2011.  I posted pictures on facebook, in case you are interested.  Most of the pictures are from Arrecfie (Diego was the photographer) and also some other pictures from friends and family.  If you need to know on a specific picture who took it, let me know.

Sara Tamargo did my makeup, her associate fixed my hair.  My DJ was Mood Event services and we got the LED lightup dance floor.

Hey Everyone,

I'm staying at Coba in March 2012 for the wedding.  I have 3 restaurants options and I was hoping for people's advice.  I've eliminated one as it's all seafood and I'd like to have more meal choices.  The two I'm looking at are: Portofino and the other is Mediterfanneo.  I have between 80-90 people going as well.  So, I'm looking for advice on quality of food and size if you think it'd be an issue.

Thanks.

Hey,

Thanks for posting the pictures.  Both you and your whole wedding day look beautiful!  I notice that you had the band at the ceremony.  I'm wondering about doing the same thing.  What were your thoughts on it?  Can I ask you how much $ is was?  And, did you think they were worth the money?

Thanks.

Hi Everyone,

I was wondering if there are any 2012 GBP Brides ? I am getting married on June 5, 2012 at the Coba Resort and would like to know more information. I have been in touch with Paloma and have booked my date and time. I have emailed my wedding coordinator but have received no email from her. Thanks
